Long-Term Care Beds

Joerns Healthcare has comfortable, accommodating beds that are specifically designed for long-term care patients. These beds can be customized with beautiful bed panels and come with a variety of caregiver accessories to assist with care.

The three top-selling beds are the UltraCare XT, EasyCare, and Care 100. Each bed has sections that can be moved independently into a variety of comfort or therapeutic positions. When coupled with support pillows, the patient can have bodily areas or limbs safely supported.

Overlays and Pillows

When a patient needs to be supported in different areas of their body, Joerns has a catalog full of support surfaces and pillows of all shapes and sizes. While some are versatile for multiple purposes or positions, many of these are also targeted support for areas such as joints, limbs, elevators for casts, etc. Overlays are also available, and can be placed on top of standard mattresses for added comfort, cooling, and moisture wicking.

Lifting and Transfers

Many long-term care patients need help with being transferred from wheelchairs to beds, vice versa, or to the toilet or bath. Joerns offers a series of manual, hydraulic, and powered patient lifts to assist caregivers in transporting patients. These lifts also protect caregivers, by reducing the load and preventing workplace injuries.

Bariatric Equipment

For larger patients, it can be a challenge to help them feel comfortable, as well as lift and transfer them during long-term care. Joerns has a line of specialty bariatric products that are designed to overcome these challenges. The Hoyer Calibre Lift and HPL700 lift are a powered lift and manual lift consecutively, each with powerful weight capacities from 700 lb (HPL700) to 850 lb (Calibre). There are also bariatric slings to accompany them.

As for beds, the RC 750 and RC 1000 are incredibly supportive for bariatric patients, as they boast a stronger frame and higher weight capacity. Corresponding with the names, the RC 750 supports up to 750 lb, while the RC 1000 supports up to 1000 lb.
