Stair Chairs
Stair chairs are stretchers that are capable of moving patients from one location to another in a sitting position, up or down a staircase, or through narrow confined spaces. Stair chairs, or evacuation chairs, are a particular type of stretcher that are designed to safely transport patients in emergency situations where other traditional Emergency Medical Service (EMS) stretchers would be too bulky.
Like traditional stretchers, stair chairs are made of the same durable materials to ensure a safe working environment for both the patient and the operator(s). Stair chairs may also include patient restraint straps to safely secure patients in a sitting position while being transported. Additional accessories such as head and feet support kits can be added to stair chairs to provide not only a safe transport for patients but a comfortable one as well.
MFI Medical offers a variety of stair chair models for EMS facilities and caregivers from industry leading brands such as Stryker and Ferno. Top models include the Stryker Stair-PRO models 6252, 6251, 6250, and 6254. Stair-PRO Stair Chairs feature the Stryker patented Stair-TREAD track that allows for easy evacuation down stairs by a single operator without lifting.
The best selling Ferno Model 40 Stair Chair features two-position front handles on the chair that allows the foot-end EMT to maneuver the patient as needed. Ferno features combination stretchers that convert from a traditional flat stretcher to a stair chair, such as the Ferno 107-C and 107-B4.
MFI also provides accessories for stair chairs, such as head and foot support kits, that can be added to stair chairs to provide not only a safe transport for patients but a comfortable one as well. Whether you are looking for a certified pre-owned or factory new model, MFI has a model to best fit your needs and budget.
