Collection: Cryosurgery
What is Cryosurgery?
Cryosurgery is a minimally invasive procedure that is often performed on an outpatient basis and typically results in minimal scarring and relatively quick recovery compared to traditional surgical techniques. This surgical procedure is most often used in dermatology, gynecology, and early cancer treatment.
The precise workings of cryosurgery involve a combination of factors, including cellular dehydration, ice crystal formation, disruption of cellular membranes, and vascular injury. These processes collectively lead to tissue destruction and ultimately achieve the therapeutic goal of removing or eradicating abnormal or diseased tissue.
What Can Cryosurgery Treat?
Cryosurgery is a common solution in order to treat skin conditions and abnormalities. These conditions may include the following:
- Warts.
- Skin tags.
- Actinic keratosis.
- Lentigines.
- Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.
Cryosurgery can definitely be applied to more skin conditions that aren’t on this list. More treatments are being researched to see where cryosurgery can help.
Complete Cryosurgical Systems
For more complex or complicated cryosurgical procedures, full cryosurgery systems are recommended over the portable options. These systems, such as the Wallach WA1000B Cryosurgical System, provide robust freezing from canisters with manual triggers that concentrate the nitrous oxide. With these manual triggers and pressure gauge, users can expect exceptional control when using this system. With its reliable performance and customizable treatment options, the Wallach WA1000B Cryosurgical System stands as a valuable tool in the arsenal of modern medical practitioners for the treatment of conditions such as warts, skin tags, and certain types of skin cancer.
Another example is the CryoConcepts CryoLab Medical Device Unit. This is a state-of-the-art cryosurgery system designed for precise and efficient treatment of various dermatological conditions. Equipped with innovative features such as adjustable freeze times and interchangeable applicators, the CryoLab unit enables tailored treatments for a wide range of skin lesions, including warts, skin tags, and actinic keratoses. Its user-friendly interface and compact design make it suitable for use in various clinical settings, while its advanced cooling technology ensures consistent and uniform freezing temperatures for optimal therapeutic outcomes. With its exceptional performance and versatility, the CryoConcepts CryoLab Medical Device Unit stands as a trusted tool for dermatologists and healthcare professionals seeking effective solutions for cryosurgical treatments.
Medical Gas Cylinders
In order to process and administer the super-cold treatment, durable canisters are needed to house the N2O or CO2 substances. Wallach offers two such canisters, with each weighing 20 lb (approximately) and containing up to 80 minutes of freeze time. During cryosurgery, the cryogenic gas is released from the cylinder through a delivery system, such as a cryosurgical probe or applicator, and applied to the target tissue to induce controlled freezing. The precise control and delivery of cryogenic gasses from medical gas cylinders enable healthcare professionals to effectively treat various dermatological conditions, including warts, skin tags, and certain types of skin cancer, with minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
