Sklar Black Gerald Tissue Forceps are a light to intermediate weight instrument with very narrow tips specifically used to handle delicate tissue during laser surgery. They are often used in cardiothoracic procedures. They feature 1 X 2 teeth to securely grasp the tissue, but also have a stop peg to prevent an overly harsh grasp that may crush the tissue. Sklar Black Laser instruments feature a non-reflective black polymer coating applied over the sandblasted instrument developed specifically for laser surgeries. This safe, durable coating reduces laser reflection to less than one-tenth of a percent, ensuring a safer surgical environment for patients and surgical staff. All Sklar Black coated instruments comply with biological testing requirements for cytotoxicity, sensitization regulatory, and ISO 10993 requirements. They also comply with the Pre-Vacuum and Gravity Cycle Steam Sterilization Validation of ANSI/AAMI ST79. Sklar Black laser coatings are guaranteed for one year against manufacturing defects.
