Choosing between a standing or wall cabinet is a matter of accessibility. Standing cabinets don't have to be secured and can be moved around a clinic. They are typically small as well, so can be hidden for safekeeping. Standing cabinets are typically low to the ground, which means they are unobtrusive.

Wall cabinets are (as the name suggests) secured to the wall, and are typically not meant to be removed. They keep your supplies elevated, leaving more room on the floor for vital equipment and patient interaction.

Narcotics Cabinets: Under Lock and Key

Narcotics and other high-risk medications need to be kept very secure, and many Harloff cabinets are specially designed for keeping narcotics locked away. There are a variety of cabinet sizes available, with many models having single or double locks for extra security. The cabinets come equipped with shelves, including fixed and adjustable shelves to fit various sized medication bottles.

Single locks require only one key to open, while double locks require two separate keys. Requiring separate keys promotes extra security with staff and reduces the risk of supply being stolen.

With the adjustable shelf option, there will always be room to fit your larger, taller storage needs. This reduces the amount of storage you may need over time, as the cabinet can constantly be changed to suit your current medical needs.
