The Sklar Blue Mini Emmett Hook, which may also be known as an Emmett Iris Hook, is most commonly used in electrosurgical OB/GYN procedures involving the uterus. The hook is at the end of a long, narrow handle, often 9 or 12 inches in length. Sklar Blue electrosurgical instruments feature high quality stainless steel with an insulated coating. This safe coating prevents radio frequency currents from being transmitted through the instrument which reduces the burning of non-targeted tissue. Sklar Blue instruments are fully autoclavable and may also be cleaned ultrasonically.
