What’s the Difference Between a Rocker and a Mixer?

Mixers are designed to spin fluids at a high rate of velocity, and centrifugal force generates the separation between plasma and blood cells. Rockers provide smooth and gentle movement to thoroughly mix a specimen, and still maintain the integrity of fragile blood cells. Both units have their advantages for specific tests, and it’s recommended that both devices be present in a working laboratory.
