Description

The MIR Bacterial/Viral Filter (#910302-S / 50 per Box) is packed in individual bags with a cardboard mouthpiece.

Warranty: Until Use or Expiration.

This is a cost-effective VBMax Pulmonary Function Test filter used to filter viruses and bacteria and comply with ATS/ERS standards for spirometry. It combines low flow resistance with high filtration efficiency to help protect the patient and equipment during lung function tests.

The MIR filter is designed for use with MIR spirometers, such as the Spirolab (#911080), Spirodoc (#910610), Spirobank II, Minispir (#911006), and Spirotel.

Independent laboratory tests have verified that this filter consistently filters out more than 99.999% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses. At the same time, it easily surpasses published ATS recommendations for flow resistance in pulmonary function instrumentation, which suggest resistance should be below 1.5 cm H2O/L/sec at flow rates of 14 L/sec.

The versatile filter is also compatible with other spirometers and brands, such as the Breon, Creative Biotech, Clement-Clarke Mini-Wright Peak Flow Meter, Puritan Bennett (400 and 600), Vacu*med (Micro, Micro Plus, Micro GP/DL, Micro Loop, Pony, Wizard), CDX Spiro 850, Futuremed Spirobank, MicroDirect, PK Morgan 232, Riko, Spirometrics (Flowmate, Flowmate+, SMI I and III), and Vitalograph.

Note: The Filter is NOT designed for use with a ventilator.

Is this filter compatible with various spirometer brands?

Yes, this filter offers versatile and broad compatibility for Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT). It is designed to work with numerous devices, ensuring flexibility in clinical settings. This filter is compatible with:

  • MIR Spirometers: Including the Spirolab, Spirodoc, and Spirobank II.
  • Other Major Brands: It is also compatible with many models from other major manufacturers, such as Breon, Puritan Bennett, and Vitalograph, among others.

This broad compatibility helps ensure accurate performance and hygiene across different equipment, meeting stringent ATS/ERS standards.

Is the filter free of latex, PVC, DEHP, and BPA?

Yes, the MIR Bacterial/Viral Filter is manufactured with patient safety as a priority.

It is confirmed to be free of latex, PVC, DEHP, and BPA, ensuring it is a safe and compliant accessory for all users during pulmonary function testing (PFT).

What size particles does this filter effectively capture?

The MIR Bacterial/Viral Filter is highly effective, capturing particulates down to 0.3 microns. This ensures a high level of protection by filtering out more than 99.999% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses during lung function tests.

Does this filter surpass flow resistance standards?

Yes, this filter is specifically engineered to ensure accurate Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) results by providing exceptionally low flow resistance. It surpasses both the ATS and ERS standards for spirometry filters.

Key details regarding compliance:

  • The flow resistance is confirmed to be well below the recommended limit of 1.5 cm H₂O/L/sec at 14 L/sec.

Maintaining this low resistance is crucial for measurement integrity. Additionally, the filter provides superior protection, capturing particulates down to 0.3 microns, with confirmed filtration efficiencies of >99.999% for bacteria and >99.99% for viruses.

Can this filter be used with a ventilator?

No, this filter is NOT designed for use with a ventilator. It is specifically designed for spirometry equipment.

What is included with each filter for immediate use?

Each MIR Bacterial/Viral Filter comes individually bagged and includes a cardboard mouthpiece for immediate single-patient use.

Does this filter have a low dead space volume?

The MIR Bacterial/Viral Filter has an effective dead space of 45 mL. This low volume is crucial for ensuring accurate and reliable pulmonary function test results.

How many filters are included in each box?

Each box contains 50 individually packaged MIR Bacterial/Viral Filters, each with a cardboard mouthpiece.

Is this filter designed for single use?

This filter is designed for single-patient, single-use only. It is a disposable filter, ensuring hygienic use and preventing cross-contamination during lung function tests.
