Description

The Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator includes power cable and MFC Cable for the OneStep option. This code-ready unit is designed to give clinicians comprehensive support for resuscitation. The ALS provides visuals that can be used as guidance and feedback to rescuers with Real CPR Help, which allows rescuers to see depth and rate of compression of CPR. The R Series ALS Defibrillator has advanced capabilities for experienced users, and has parameters that may be added, as well as a self-checking, code-ready system that lets users know whether or not the unit is ready to be used. It uses rectilinear biphasic technology for delivering a constant current to the patient.

Note: Batteries not included. Zoll SurePower Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery Pack (#8019-0535-01) may be purchased separately and is compatible with R Series, E Series, and AED Pro Defibrillators.

Warranty:

  • Certified Refurbished: 90 Days - Parts and Labor.
  • Factory New: 5 Years - Hospital.

The R Series works with the Zoll OneStep Pacing system. With OneStep Pacing and Zoll OneStep Electrodes, the need for a separate ECG cable is eliminated. The ECG electrodes are incorporated with an anterior OneStep electrode. The electrodes are triangular and incorporate a circular multi-function therapy electrode in the middle, and three ECG electrodes at the ends of the triangular electrode pad shape. While the therapy portion emits a pacing pulse, the ECG electrodes acquire signals from the heart and function as the monitoring element. Electrodes for this function are sold separately.

Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator Optional Advanced Monitoring Parameters:

  • Pulse Oximetry (SpO2): Provides fast, accurate, and non-invasive means of continually monitoring patients who are at risk for developing hypoxemia. SpO2 possesses adult, pediatric, and neonatal capabilities, and monitors both ECG rate and pulse rate when pacing. Includes Reusable Adult Sensor and 4-Foot Extension.
  • End-Tidal Mainstream Technology (EtCO2): Provides continuous end-tidal CO2 monitoring and diagnostic information. Includes CAPNOSTAT 5 Mainstream CO2 sensor (airway adapter not included). For use with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
  • Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP): Includes 23 - 33 cm Reusable Cuff, 3 meter Air Hose, and RMT motion tolerance. NIBP is intended for use with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

Frequently asked questions

How does Real CPR Help optimize CPR quality?

The Real CPR Help feature is a core component of the Zoll R Series, designed to optimize the effectiveness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by providing immediate, visual feedback in real-time. It guides the rescuer on the key metrics of effective compressions:

  • Compression Depth: Provides visual feedback to ensure compressions achieve the necessary depth according to clinical standards.
  • Compression Rate: Offers guidance to maintain the optimal speed or rate for chest compressions.

By continuously monitoring and directing performance, this system helps clinicians deliver consistent, high-quality CPR during critical events.

Does the OneStep Pacing system simplify setup?

Yes, the Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator is compatible with the Zoll OneStep Pacing system, which significantly streamlines procedures and setup. This compatibility offers a key advantage:

  • Cable Elimination: When utilizing OneStep Electrodes, ECG monitoring is integrated directly into the therapy electrode, eliminating the need to connect a separate ECG cable.

This reduces clutter and speeds up deployment during critical situations. The necessary MFC Cable for connecting the OneStep option is included with the defibrillator unit.

Is the system always code-ready?

Yes, the Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator is designed as a Code-Ready System to ensure maximum reliability and immediate availability in emergencies. This is a critical selling point.

This feature relies on a self-checking system that automatically performs diagnostics to verify:

  • Unit readiness: Confirmation that the defibrillator is fully operational.
  • Component integrity: Verification of the status of all key components.

This process ensures clinicians can be confident in the device’s preparation for immediate use during critical situations.

Does the R Series support advanced monitoring features?

Yes, the Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator is highly configurable and supports several optional advanced monitoring parameters to enhance comprehensive patient assessment during resuscitation.

These advanced options, which can be added to the base unit, include:

  • Pulse Oximetry (SpO2): Provides non-invasive oxygen saturation monitoring for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
  • End-Tidal Mainstream CO2 (EtCO2): Enables continuous end-tidal CO2 monitoring, suitable for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
  • Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP): Offers essential non-invasive blood pressure monitoring, also applicable for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
Does the Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator include batteries?

The Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator does not include batteries as a standard component.

  • The unit is equipped with integrated AC power and comes with a power cable for immediate operation when near an outlet.
  • For portable or mobile use, the battery must be purchased separately.
  • The compatible battery is the Zoll SurePower Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery Pack (Part #8019-0535-01).
Is high-efficiency rectilinear biphasic technology used?

Yes, the Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator is equipped with Rectilinear Biphasic Technology.

This advanced technology is engineered to maximize defibrillation effectiveness by delivering a controlled and constant current to the patient, ensuring highly efficient energy transfer during resuscitation.

Where is this advanced ALS defibrillator ideal?

The Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator is engineered for high-acuity environments that require Advanced Life Support (ALS) capabilities, making it ideal for experienced professional clinicians. Its design focuses on immediate operational readiness and guided support.

It is best suited for the following settings:

  • Critical Care and Emergency Rooms: Providing comprehensive support with advanced monitoring options.
  • Emergency Response (EMS) and Transport: The unit is portable, featuring integrated handles and a robust system.

Crucially, the system features a Code-Ready System with a self-checking function to ensure it is immediately available for deployment. It also includes Real CPR Help technology, which delivers real-time visual feedback on CPR compression depth and rate to optimize resuscitation efforts.

Are all Zoll electrodes compatible with this unit?

Yes, the Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator is compatible with all Zoll electrodes, offering flexibility and convenience for various clinical needs.

Does it include convenient integrated AC power?

Yes, the Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator features integrated AC power, ensuring it can be continuously powered when an outlet is available.

Are there ports for managing patient data?

Yes, the Zoll R Series ALS Defibrillator is equipped with multiple connectivity options for effective data management, including:

  • USB ports
  • Compact Flash ports

These ports are essential for data logging and ensuring clinicians can easily review and document patient events following resuscitation efforts.
