Description

SklarLite Sterilization Containers are made from anodized aluminum that allow them to be durable but lighter than traditional containers, ideal for not only sterilization and storage, but also easy transport. Available in multiple sizes, with lids available in a variety of colors, containers are available in sets or individual components. Sklar also offers a wide range of accessories, including baskets, silicone mats, custom ID labels, and filters. This product is a Safe Model container which features an additional solid lid (not pictured) that protects the perforation and filter on the standard lid. Frequently asked questions

Is this container made from heavy materials?

No, it is designed for efficiency. The container is constructed from anodized aluminum alloy, which provides superior durability while remaining significantly more lightweight than traditional sterilization containers, making it much easier to handle and transport.

Can this container be used safely for stacked storage?

Yes, absolutely. This specific model features a Safe Lid system, which includes an additional solid protective cover that sits over the standard perforated lid. This design specifically prevents damage to the filters and protects the container’s integrity when stacked in busy storage environments.

Is the material safe for medical use?

Yes. This container is crafted from high-quality anodized aluminum alloy and is explicitly not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for standard surgical and clinical sterilization processes.

How should I handle the non-perforated bottom during use?

The non-perforated bottom design is intentional for specific containment needs. While it offers a solid base for your instruments, it is highly recommended to use it in conjunction with silicone mats or liners to ensure proper instrument protection and organization during the sterilization cycle.

Does the yellow color serve a specific purpose?

The bright yellow lid is designed to act as a visual cue. It allows staff to quickly identify, categorize, or segregate specific sets of instruments within a fast-paced medical or laboratory setting, helping to improve workflow and protocol compliance.

Are there additional accessories available for this unit?

Yes. While the unit comes complete with the container body and the protective lid system, you can further customize your setup with compatible accessories such as:

  • Instrument baskets
  • Silicone mats
  • Custom identification labels
  • Replacement filters
Is this a reusable sterilization solution?

Yes, it is built for longevity. As a high-quality, reusable system, it is specifically engineered to withstand the repeated cycles required in demanding clinical or laboratory environments.

What is the benefit of the anodized aluminum construction?

Anodization provides a harder, more corrosion-resistant surface than standard aluminum. This ensures that the container maintains its structural integrity and aesthetic finish even after multiple sterilization cycles, providing long-term value compared to disposable alternatives.

How secure is the locking mechanism?

The container features a robust, metallic latch mechanism mounted centrally on the front face. It is designed to provide a secure seal for the lid, ensuring the contents remain protected and contained throughout transport and processing.

Are the dimensions suitable for standard instrument sets?

This is a mid-size container with nominal dimensions of 18-1/4” x 11” x 6”. It provides a versatile footprint ideal for most standard surgical instrument kits requiring secure, high-capacity organization.
