Frequently asked questions

Does the aluminum construction provide weight benefits?

Yes, the SklarLite container is engineered from an anodized aluminum alloy. This material is specifically chosen to offer:

  • Superior durability compared to conventional cases.
  • A significantly reduced weight profile, making the unit much easier for staff to transport between departments.
Is the Safe Lid system effective for stacking?

Absolutely. The Safe Model lid is specifically designed for facilities where space is at a premium. It features an additional solid outer lid that acts as a protective shield over the perforation and filter area, ensuring that stacking the containers does not compromise the sterility or integrity of the contents.

Are these containers suitable for repeated sterilization cycles?

Yes, these are designed for heavy-duty, repeated use. Constructed for the rigors of medical environments, the container is built to ensure consistent instrument integrity throughout the entire sterilization, storage, and transport cycle.

Can I use this container with other Sklar accessories?

Yes, the SklarLite system is highly versatile and designed for modular use. You can easily integrate it with a variety of Sklar accessories, including:

  • Instrument baskets
  • Silicone mats
  • Custom identification labels
Does the non-perforated bottom provide extra protection?

The non-perforated bottom design is ideal for protecting your instruments from environmental contaminants during transport and storage, while also preventing any potential leakage during the handling process.

Is the green lid useful for facility organization?

The vibrant green lid color is an excellent tool for implementing color-coding protocols within your facility. It allows staff to quickly identify specific sets, departments, or sterilization categories at a glance, improving overall workflow efficiency.

Does this container contain any latex materials?

No. The SklarLite Sterilization Container is not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for medical environments where latex sensitivity is a concern.

What are the precise interior dimensions?

The mid-size unit provides a generous internal space suitable for a variety of surgical tools. The approximate external dimensions are 18-1/4” x 11” x 6”, providing a 6-inch height clearance for your instrumentation.

Is the latch mechanism secure for transport?

Yes, the container features a robust, metallic latch mechanism with a secure hinged clasp. It is designed to provide a firm, professional-grade closure that keeps the lid tightly fastened during handling and transit.

Does this arrive ready for immediate clinical use?

The container arrives factory new and non-sterile. It is intended to be processed through your facility’s standard sterilization protocols before being used to house surgical instruments.
