Frequently asked questions

Does the aluminum construction offer lasting durability?

Yes, this container is crafted from high-grade anodized aluminum alloy. This material is specifically chosen for its ability to withstand the rigors of repeated sterilization cycles, offering a robust and long-lasting solution for your medical instrument processing.

Why is the Safe Lid system advantageous for storage?

The Safe Lid system includes an additional solid lid that acts as a protective shield. This is particularly beneficial for:

  • Stacking: Protecting the integrity of the underlying filter and perforation during storage.
  • Security: Providing an extra layer of defense against contaminants in busy sterile processing departments.
Is the material safe for those with latex allergies?

Absolutely. This SklarLite container is not made with natural rubber latex, ensuring it is safe for use in clinical environments where latex sensitivity is a concern.

How does the non-perforated bottom enhance performance?

The non-perforated base is designed to provide a secure environment for instrument sets. By eliminating perforations on the bottom, it helps maintain a contained area during the handling and transport of surgical tools.

Is this container easy to transport between departments?

Yes. A primary benefit of the anodized aluminum construction is that it is significantly lighter than traditional, heavier sterilization cases. This reduced weight makes it much easier for staff to move and transport instruments safely.

Can this container be used multiple times?

Yes, it is designed for repeated use. The container is a durable, reusable piece of equipment meant to contribute to long-term value in your surgical processing workflow.

Does the blue lid help with workflow organization?

Yes, the vibrant blue color-coded lid is an excellent tool for efficiency. It allows staff in a sterile processing department to quickly identify specific sets, trays, or container configurations at a glance.

What is the internal capacity of this mid-size model?

The mid-size container features external dimensions of approximately 18-1/4” x 11” x 6”. It is engineered to provide sufficient space for standard surgical instrument sets while maintaining a manageable footprint for sterilization autoclaves.

Is this container compatible with other Sklar accessories?

Yes, the system is designed to seamlessly interface with a variety of Sklar accessories. It is fully compatible with:

  • Internal baskets
  • Protective silicone mats
  • Standardized filtration media
Does this product require any special maintenance?

While the container is built for durability, it should be processed according to standard medical facility sterilization protocols. Because it is made of anodized aluminum, it is highly resistant to corrosion, but we recommend following your facility’s guidelines for handling and inspecting the lid seals and filters between uses to ensure continued performance.
