Description

SklarLite Sterilization Containers are made from anodized aluminum that allow them to be durable but lighter than traditional containers, ideal for not only sterilization and storage, but also easy transport. Available in multiple sizes, with lids available in a variety of colors, containers are available in sets or individual components. Sklar also offers a wide range of accessories, including baskets, silicone mats, custom ID labels, and filters. This product is a Safe Model container which features an additional solid lid (not pictured) that protects the perforation and filter on the standard lid. This additional lid is particularly beneficial for facilities that stack and store containers. This product is a mid size container with a non-perforated bottom and a red lid.

Frequently asked questions

Is the anodized aluminum material built for long-term use?

Yes, the SklarLite container is engineered for repeated, long-term use in sterilization cycles. The anodized aluminum alloy provides superior durability while remaining lightweight compared to traditional materials.

How does the Safe Lid system benefit busy environments?

The Safe Model lid features an extra solid outer layer that shields the filter and perforations. This design is specifically advantageous for:

  • Secure Stacking: Protects the integrity of the sterilization filter during storage.
  • Enhanced Safety: Prevents accidental damage to the primary lid during transport.
Is this container suitable for latex-sensitive environments?

Yes, the product is explicitly manufactured to be 100% free of natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for medical facilities with strict latex-free requirements.

Does the non-perforated bottom provide better protection?

The non-perforated bottom design offers a solid, enclosed environment for your instruments. This configuration is ideal for containment and ensuring that the contents remain undisturbed during transport and storage within the facility.

Can I use color-coding to organize my inventory?

Yes, the vibrant red lid is an excellent feature for departmental coding. It allows staff to quickly identify, sort, and manage specific inventory or sterilization sets at a glance.

What is the recommended maximum instrument length for this container?

This mid-size container is designed to accommodate surgical instruments up to 4 inches in length, ensuring they fit securely within the 18-1/4” x 11” footprint.

Is the container compatible with other Sklar accessories?

Absolutely. It is designed as part of the broader SklarLite system and integrates seamlessly with:

  • Silicone instrument mats
  • Sterilization baskets
  • ID labeling systems and filters
Are the locking mechanisms secure enough for frequent transport?

The container features robust, heavy-duty metallic locking mechanisms on both sides, including a central latch assembly. These are engineered to provide a tight, secure seal between the lid and base, ensuring the container remains closed during handling and movement.

Does the container design help reduce physical strain for staff?

Yes, by utilizing an advanced anodized aluminum alloy, the container is significantly lighter than conventional sterilization units. This weight reduction makes it much easier for staff to handle and transport throughout the facility.

Is there a specific maintenance requirement for the anodized finish?

The anodized aluminum construction is inherently durable and designed for the rigors of medical sterilization. To maintain its longevity, follow standard facility protocols for the cleaning and sterilization of anodized aluminum equipment, which generally involves using pH-neutral detergents to preserve the finish.
