Description

SklarLite Sterilization Containers are made from anodized aluminum that allow them to be durable but lighter than traditional containers, ideal for not only sterilization and storage, but also easy transport. Available in multiple sizes, with lids available in a variety of colors, containers are available in sets or individual components. Sklar also offers a wide range of accessories, including baskets, silicone mats, custom ID labels, and filters. This product is a Safe Model container which features an additional solid lid (not pictured) that protects the perforation and filter on the standard lid. This additional lid is particularly beneficial for facilities that stack and store containers. This product is a mid size container with a non-perforated bottom and a blue lid.

Frequently asked questions

Does the anodized aluminum offer superior durability?

Yes, the SklarLite container is engineered from high-quality anodized aluminum alloy. This material is specifically chosen to provide the robust performance required for medical sterilization processes while remaining significantly lighter than traditional stainless steel containers, making it easier to handle and transport.

How does the Safe Model lid protect my instruments?

The Safe Model lid includes an extra solid outer cover that sits over the standard lid. This provides a critical layer of protection for the perforation structure and internal filters, preventing damage or contamination during storage and stacking in busy clinical settings.

Is this container suitable for long-term clinical use?

Absolutely. This unit is designed as a reusable system, providing a sustainable and cost-effective solution for instrument sterilization and storage. It is built for longevity and is backed by a Lifetime warranty.

What are the benefits of the non-perforated bottom?

The non-perforated bottom design is ideal for applications where containing fluids or protecting the bottom surface of the load is necessary. It provides a solid, secure base that integrates seamlessly with the SklarLite sterilization workflow.

Does the blue lid help with facility organization?

Yes, the vibrant blue lid is an intentional design feature meant to assist in visual management. It allows staff to quickly color-code, sort, and organize different instrument sets, which can significantly improve workflow efficiency in sterile processing departments.

Is this material safe for use with latex-sensitive patients?

Yes, the SklarLite Sterilization Container is not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for facilities that maintain latex-free protocols for their surgical equipment.

What is the standard footprint for this mid-size container?

This mid-size unit features nominal external dimensions of 18-1/4” x 11” x 4”. These dimensions are optimized to offer a balance between storage capacity and ease of transport in standard medical autoclaves and storage racks.

Are the latching mechanisms designed for secure transport?

The container features robust metallic silver latching mechanisms that provide a firm, secure closure. These latches are designed to withstand the rigors of frequent use and ensure the lid remains securely attached during transport between the sterile processing department and the operating room.

Does this container arrive ready for immediate use?

The unit is shipped in a factory-new, non-sterile state. Like all reusable sterilization containers, it must undergo your facility’s validated sterilization cycle before the first clinical use to ensure it meets your internal sterility requirements.

How does the weight compare to traditional containers?

Thanks to the advanced anodized aluminum alloy construction, this container is lighter than traditional, heavier metal alternatives. This reduction in weight helps reduce physical strain on staff members who frequently handle and move multiple sterilization containers throughout the day.
