Frequently asked questions

Does the anodized aluminum provide extra durability?

Yes. The container is constructed from a high-quality anodized aluminum alloy. This material choice provides a superior balance of robust durability while being significantly lighter than traditional sterilization containers, making it easier for staff to transport safely.

Is the Safe Lid intended for heavy-duty stacking?

Absolutely. The included Safe Lid is a solid auxiliary cover designed specifically to sit over the perforated lid and filter assembly. It protects the integrity of the filter mechanism during high-density stacking, storage, and transport, ensuring your sterile barrier remains intact.

Does the perforated design ensure effective sterilization?

Yes, this model is engineered with a perforated bottom in addition to the perforated lid. This design facilitates optimal steam penetration throughout the container, ensuring that all instruments housed inside are subjected to thorough and effective sterilization cycles.

Is this container safe for patients with latex allergies?

Yes. The SklarLite Sterilization Container is guaranteed to be free of natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for healthcare environments that prioritize patient safety and allergy prevention.

Can the lid color help with surgical tray organization?

The red identification lid is specifically designed to aid in workflow efficiency. By using distinct colors, sterile processing departments can perform quick visual identification of specific instrument sets or tray purposes, reducing errors in high-paced environments.

What is the primary benefit of the Half-Size dimensions?

The 11-1/4” x 11” x 5” footprint is optimized for standard medical shelving and sterilization equipment. This half-size designation allows for better organizational flexibility within your surgical processing department compared to larger, bulky containment systems.

Are these containers suitable for long-term professional use?

Yes. These are Instrument Grade products manufactured to strict professional standards. Because they are designed for continuous reuse in demanding operating room environments, they are backed by a Lifetime Warranty.

Does the container come with the protective Safe Lid included?

Yes, your purchase includes the complete assembly: the container body, the red perforated identification lid, and the additional solid Safe Lid for enhanced protection.

Are there accessories available to customize the interior?

While the container comes as a standalone unit, it is designed to be compatible with a variety of professional accessories to keep instruments secure, including:

  • Custom silicone mats
  • Specialized instrument baskets
  • ID labels
  • Replacement filters
How should I prepare this container before first use?

As the product ships factory new and non-sterile, you should perform an initial cleaning and sterilization cycle according to your facility’s standard operating procedures for surgical instruments and storage containers before placing it into active service.
