Frequently asked questions

Is the container made from lightweight materials?

Yes, this container is crafted from anodized aluminum alloy. This material is specifically chosen to provide exceptional durability while being significantly lighter than traditional steel sterilization containers, making it much easier to handle and transport within your facility.

Does this model support stacking during storage?

Absolutely. This is a ‘Safe Model’ unit, which includes an additional solid outer lid. This protective cover is specifically designed to safeguard the perforations and filters of the primary lid, allowing you to safely stack multiple containers to optimize your storage space.

How does the bottom design aid in sterilization?

The bottom of the container features a perforated design. This is critical for ensuring optimal penetration of steam or chemical sterilization agents during the autoclave process, guaranteeing thorough processing of your instruments.

Is this container suitable for long-term clinical use?

Yes, it is designed for repeated, long-term use in professional medical settings. Being a reusable solution, it serves as an efficient and sustainable alternative to disposable sterilization options.

Can I use internal organizers with this container?

Yes, this unit is part of the SklarLite ecosystem, which is fully compatible with a range of accessories to keep your instruments organized and protected. You can easily integrate:

  • Specialized instrument baskets
  • Protective silicone mats
  • Custom ID labeling options
Is this product safe for latex-sensitive environments?

Yes, the SklarLite Sterilization Container is not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for facilities that maintain strict latex-free protocols.

What is the primary benefit of the anodized finish?

The anodized aluminum finish serves two primary purposes:

  1. Durability: It provides a robust, corrosion-resistant surface capable of withstanding rigorous sterilization cycles.
  2. Aesthetics: It offers a clean, professional, and uniform appearance that is easy to maintain in a clinical environment.
Is the lid system easy to secure?

The container features heavy-duty metal latching hardware located on the front face. These latches are designed for secure closure during transport and include a handle that folds flush against the body, keeping the profile sleek and minimizing accidental snagging.

Are the edges of the container sharp?

No, the corners of the SklarLite container are slightly rounded. This design detail is intentional to ensure safer handling and easier maneuverability for staff when moving the containers.

What kind of maintenance is required for these containers?

As a reusable sterilization system, they are designed to withstand standard autoclave cleaning and sterilization protocols. Because they are part of the SklarLite system, they are compatible with established instrument reprocessing workflows. For specific cleaning agents, we recommend adhering to your facility’s standard sterilization guidelines.
