Frequently asked questions

Is the anodized aluminum material durable enough for frequent use?

Yes. The SklarLite container is constructed from high-quality anodized aluminum alloy, specifically engineered for superior strength and long-term durability. It is designed for repeated sterilization cycles, making it a robust, reusable solution for medical facilities.

How does the 'Safe Model' lid provide extra security?

The ‘Safe Model’ configuration includes an additional solid lid that overlays the standard vented lid. This design offers two primary benefits:

  • Filter Protection: It shields the sterilization filter and lid perforations from damage.
  • Safe Stacking: The solid surface makes it much safer and more stable to stack multiple containers during transport and storage.
Can I customize the interior to better organize my instruments?

Absolutely. While the container ships as a base and lid system, it is designed to integrate with a variety of SklarLite system accessories, including:

  • Instrument baskets
  • Silicone mats
  • Custom ID labels
Does the non-perforated bottom provide specific advantages?

The non-perforated bottom is specifically optimized for workflows that require a solid surface interface between the instrument tray and the container base. It provides a clean, enclosed environment that prevents contamination from entering through the bottom surface.

Is this container suitable for busy sterile processing environments?

Yes, it is ideal for demanding clinical environments such as operating rooms and sterile processing departments. Its lightweight construction reduces physical strain during handling, while the durable aluminum build is designed for the high-volume turnover required in hospitals.

Is there any natural rubber latex used in the construction?

No, this product is guaranteed to be not made with natural rubber latex, ensuring it is safe for use in clinical settings where latex sensitivities are a concern.

Does this container offer any benefits regarding storage space?

Yes. Beyond its standardized 23” x 11” x 5” footprint which aids in organized shelf storage, the ‘Safe Model’ solid lid allows for secure, flat-surface stacking, helping you maximize your storage capacity in tight clinical areas.

How does the weight of this container compare to traditional ones?

This container is intentionally engineered to be significantly lighter than traditional sterilization containers. By utilizing advanced anodized aluminum alloy, Sklar has reduced the overall weight to improve ergonomic handling and ease of transport for staff members.

Are there any specific maintenance requirements I should know?

As a precision-engineered sterilization unit, it is built for repeated use. While specific care instructions vary by hospital protocol, the anodized finish is designed to withstand standard sterilization processes. The unit is intended to be cleaned and managed as part of your facility’s standard instrument reprocessing cycle.

What is the benefit of the lifetime warranty?

The manufacturer lifetime warranty reflects the manufacturer’s total confidence in the quality, craftsmanship, and longevity of the aluminum alloy construction, providing you with long-term peace of mind regarding your investment.
