Frequently asked questions

Does the dual-edge design improve surgical precision?

Yes, this design is engineered for superior control. It pairs one razor-sharp edge with one standard scissor edge, allowing you to achieve the clean, precise incisions of a knife while retaining the safety and maneuverability of traditional scissors. This helps minimize tissue trauma during dissection.

Is this instrument made of high-quality durable stainless steel?

Absolutely. These scissors are manufactured using high-grade stainless steel and are classified as Sklar Premium grade instruments. This ensures long-term durability and resistance to wear, which is why the product is backed by a Lifetime warranty.

What are the advantages of the bariatric design?

The bariatric classification indicates that these scissors are built with enhanced strength and specific geometry suitable for bariatric procedures. They provide the necessary robustness for navigating and dissecting tissue in more challenging clinical environments.

How can I easily identify these Sklarhone instruments?

These instruments are designed for easy visual identification in a busy surgical environment by their distinctive dual black finger rings.

Are these appropriate for cutting sutures or drains?

No, these are strictly intended for soft tissue dissection. They are not recommended for cutting sutures, drains, or other non-tissue materials, as this may dull the high-precision razor edge.

Do these scissors arrive ready for immediate sterile use?

These scissors are provided as non-sterile. They must be cleaned and sterilized according to your facility’s established protocols before being used in a procedure.

Is this instrument fully TAA compliant for clinical environments?

Yes, this product is fully TAA compliant, making it a suitable choice for clinical or government facilities that require adherence to specific procurement standards.

Are these high-quality instruments designed for repeated reuse?

Are materials in these scissors free from natural latex?

Yes, the product is certified to be not made with natural rubber latex, ensuring safety for both staff and patients with latex sensitivities.

What is the specific curvature of these blades?

The blades feature a ‘curved on flat’ configuration. This specific curvature is designed to provide optimal anatomical access and improved visibility during complex soft tissue dissection procedures.
