The Sklar Sims-Kelly Retractor is used for retracting the vaginal wall during OB/GYN procedures. It is a single end, right angle, manual retractor available in three sizes. This retractor combines multiple characteristics of the standard Kelly and standard Sims retractors. The shaft of this retractor curves backwards slightly before curving forward again. This creates a gentle right angle and a blade that is marginally larger than a standard Kelly retractor but smaller than a standard Sims retractor. The blade itself has a curvature similar to that of the Sims retractor. The walls are U-shaped versus flatter like a Kelly retractor. There is no downward turning lip at the tip of the blade as there is with the Kelly retractor, and the tip is squared and blunt, unlike the standard Sims retractor which is rounded. This is a medium retractor with a 2-3/4" X 1-1/4" blade. Sklar offers this Kelly retractor with a grip handle that is hollow and features finger ridges and a slight hook at the end for a secure grip and improved comfort.
