Description

Sklar Blue Allis Tissue Forceps are finger ring, ratcheted forceps used for grasping organs and slippery or dense tissue during electrosurgery. They are commonly used with tonsil, vaginal, breast, and thyroid tissue. Sklar Blue electrosurgical instruments feature high quality stainless steel with an insulated coating. This safe coating prevents radio frequency currents from being transmitted through the instrument which reduces the burning of non-targeted tissue. Sklar Blue instruments are fully autoclavable and may also be cleaned ultrasonically. All Sklar Blue coated instruments comply with biological testing requirements for cytotoxicity, sensitization regulatory, and ISO 10993 requirements. They also comply with the Pre-Vacuum and Gravity Cycle Steam Sterilization Validation of ANSI/AAMI ST79. Sklar Blue electrosurgical coatings are guaranteed for one year against manufacturing defects. This product is straight with 5X6 teeth and an overall length of 9-1/2 inches.

Frequently asked questions

Does the insulated coating effectively prevent RF current transmission?

Yes. The forceps feature a specialized non-conductive blue coating specifically engineered to act as a barrier. This insulation prevents radio frequency (RF) currents from transmitting through the instrument, which significantly reduces the risk of accidental burns to non-targeted tissues during electrosurgery.

Are these forceps suitable for grasping dense or slippery tissue?

Absolutely. The 5x6 teeth configuration is specifically designed to provide a secure, reliable grip on dense or slippery structures. They are commonly and effectively used in procedures involving:

  • Tonsil tissue
  • Breast tissue
  • Thyroid tissue
  • Vaginal tissue
How durable is the insulating material?

The Sklar Blue insulation is designed for demanding clinical environments and is backed by a one-year guarantee against manufacturing defects, ensuring reliability during repeated use.

Can these instruments withstand multiple autoclave cycles?

Yes, they are designed for longevity in a clinical setting. They are fully autoclavable and are also compatible with ultrasonic cleaning methods, allowing for consistent and thorough reprocessing.

Are these forceps made with natural rubber latex?

No. The Sklar Blue Electrosurgical Allis Tissue Forceps are not made with natural rubber latex, making them a safe choice for staff and patients with latex sensitivities.

Do these forceps meet international safety and biological standards?

Yes. They are manufactured to meet rigorous quality and safety protocols, including:

  • ISO 10993: Compliance with biological testing (cytotoxicity and sensitization).
  • ANSI/AAMI ST79: Validated for pre-vacuum and gravity cycle steam sterilization.
What is the benefit of the blue-colored finish?

Beyond providing the necessary electrical insulation, the vibrant blue finish offers high visibility against both surgical drapes and patient tissue, helping surgeons quickly identify and differentiate the instrument during a procedure.

Is the ratchet mechanism reliable for holding tissue securely?

Yes, the instrument features a standard ratcheted finger-ring handle that allows for a locking grip. This provides surgeons with the ability to maintain a secure hold on tissue without needing to apply constant manual pressure.

Is this instrument compliant with TAA regulations?

Yes, this product is TAA compliant, meeting the necessary requirements for federal procurement and supply chains.

Are these instruments made from high-quality materials?

They are constructed from high-quality, professional-grade stainless steel, which provides the structural integrity required for surgical precision, while the added insulated coating ensures safety during electrosurgical applications.
