Description

Econo double end spatula & packer is commonly used in podiatry. It features one smooth, rounded teardrop tip (spatula) and one blunt probe end (packer). The spatula end is used to separate the nail plate from the nail bed. The packer is used to place packing under or around the toe following a surgical procedure. Econo instruments are Sklar's floor-grade, disposable instruments. Made in Pakistan, they offer the greatest utility at the lowest cost. Econo instruments eliminate the need for cleaning and reprocessing. Because they are disposable, Econo instruments also reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination. Frequently asked questions

Does this tool help prevent cross-contamination?

Yes. Because these instruments are disposable, they are intended to be used once and then discarded. This effectively eliminates the need for cleaning or reprocessing and significantly mitigates the risk of cross-contamination between patients.

Is the stainless steel durable enough for procedures?

Yes, these tools are constructed from high-quality stainless steel, ensuring they are reliable and sturdy enough to perform effectively during podiatric procedures.

Can people with latex allergies safely use these?

Yes. The Econo Spatula & Packer is explicitly not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for clinicians and patients with latex sensitivities.

How many instruments are included in one box?

Each box contains 12 individual spatula and packer tools.

What is the primary function of the teardrop end?

The smooth, rounded teardrop end acts as a spatula, specifically designed to carefully separate the nail plate from the nail bed during podiatric treatments.

What is the blunt end of the tool for?

The opposing end features a blunt probe, which serves as a packer. It is designed to help clinicians precisely place post-surgical packing material underneath or around the toe area.

Is the grip secure during use?

Yes. The handle shaft features fine horizontal knurling along the central grip area, which provides improved handling security and tactile control for the clinician.

What does the 'Econo floor grade' classification mean?

The Econo grade signifies that the instrument is engineered to provide the greatest utility at the lowest cost. It is ideal for high-throughput environments where instrument reprocessing is impractical.

Are these instruments delivered sterile?

These instruments are supplied as non-sterile items and are intended for use in procedures where that classification is appropriate.

What is the total length of the instrument?

The instrument has a total length of 5-3/4 inches, which provides a balanced silhouette optimized for precision work within small anatomical spaces.
