Description

The Allied Healthcare LSP Advantage Emergency Portable Suction Unit is versatile, capable of providing powerful suction in a variety of emergency settings and during transportation.

Warranty: 2 Years - Free from Material Defects in Material and Workmanship.

The LSP (Life Support Products) Advantage Suction Unit can be powered three ways: from an emergency vehicle docking station, AC power outlet, or as a stand alone source on battery. The battery can run continuously for 75 minutes on a full charge (before the indicator lights signify the need to recharge), or for 60 minutes after a two hour charge. Emergency personnel can also plug this unit into a docking station or plug into an outlet where it will still provide full performance, even if the battery is fully dead. If not plugged in, the unit automatically shuts off when the battery is depleted.

This suction unit has a wide range of suction power, from a light 25 mm Hg to a powerful 550 mm Hg for airway obstructions. With its compact design, this unit is ideal for nearly any emergency vehicle, including ambulances or helicopters.

Frequently asked questions

What is the full adjustable suction range?

The LSP Advantage unit provides a powerful and precise adjustable vacuum range suitable for critical emergency situations, ranging from gentle needs to severe airway obstructions. Its performance specifications are: * Adjustable Vacuum Range: The suction can be regulated from a minimum of 25 mm Hg up to a maximum of 550 mm Hg. * Vacuum Flow Rate: It delivers a robust flow rate of greater than 30 liters per minute (> 30 lpm) for rapid aspiration. *Note: The L190-GR configuration includes a Gauge and Regulator for precise, continuous adjustment across this entire range.

What is the continuous runtime on battery?

The LSP Advantage utilizes a powerful internal rechargeable lead-acid battery, ensuring reliable operation when AC or DC power is unavailable. Here are the key specifications:

  • Continuous Runtime: Up to 75 minutes of continuous operation at the maximum vacuum setting (550 mm Hg).
  • Recharge Time: The battery fully recharges in less than six hours via the internal AC charger or when connected to a DC source.
Does the unit feature tri-power operation?

Yes, the Allied Healthcare LSP Advantage is designed with Tri-Power Operation for ultimate versatility and reliability in emergency situations. It ensures continuous use through three flexible power modalities:

  • Internal Rechargeable Lead Acid Battery: Provides up to 75 minutes of continuous operation at the maximum 550 mm Hg suction setting. A full recharge takes less than six hours.
  • Standard AC Power: Connects to a standard 115V, 50/60 Hz outlet using the internal charger.
  • Emergency Vehicle/Docking Station: Operates via a 12V DC source, ideal for ambulances and air medical transport.

Crucially, the unit is engineered to run at full performance when plugged into an external AC or docking station source, even if the internal battery is completely depleted.

Is a convenient disposable collection canister included?

The unit is ready for immediate use as it does include an 800 cc disposable collection canister.

Here are the details for the included canister:

  • Capacity: 800 cc
  • Type: Disposable
  • Inlet: Stem inlet

For applications requiring greater capacity, compatible 1500 ml disposable suction canisters are also available separately.

Are there clear battery status indicators?

Yes, the LSP Advantage Portable Suction Unit features clear visual indicators to ensure you know the status of the internal rechargeable lead-acid battery:

  • Charge Status Indicators: Dedicated lights clearly monitor and display the battery’s current charge and recharging status.
  • Bad Battery Sensor: For enhanced safety, the unit includes a specialized sensor that uses 5 red LEDs to immediately alert the user if the battery is low or requires attention.

Crucially, the unit is designed for maximum reliability: it maintains full suction performance (up to 550 mm Hg) when connected to an external AC power source (115V) or an emergency vehicle docking station, even if the internal battery is completely depleted. A fully charged battery provides up to 75 minutes of continuous use on the high setting.

Does this unit offer a high vacuum flow rate?

Yes, the LSP Advantage Emergency Portable Suction Unit provides a strong vacuum flow rate of greater than 30 lpm (liters per minute). This high flow rate is crucial for rapid and effective aspiration, making it suitable for managing critical airway obstructions in pre-hospital and transport settings.

What commonly purchased accessories enhance the unit?

The LSP Advantage Emergency Portable Suction Unit is often enhanced with key accessories that increase its functionality and portability in emergency transport settings:

  • Docking Station Kit (#L200-010): Essential for secure mounting and continuous power/charging in emergency vehicles (like ambulances or helicopters), ensuring the unit is ready for immediate use.
  • Portable Suction Unit Carrying Case (#L190-BAG): Provides a robust, protective solution for safe transport and easy carrying in the field.
  • Disposable Hydrophobic/Bacteria Filters: Crucial for maintaining hygiene and protecting the pump mechanism by preventing fluids and biological contaminants from entering the unit.
  • Larger Disposable Suction Canisters (e.g., 1500 ml): Available to supplement the included 800 cc canister, offering extended fluid collection capacity for longer or more intensive use.
What is the battery charge time?

The internal, rechargeable lead acid battery is designed for rapid turnover, requiring less than six hours for a complete charge. A key operational benefit is that the unit can maintain full operational performance, even when the battery is low or depleted, as long as it is connected to an external power source (AC outlet or 12V DC vehicle docking station). This ensures continuous readiness and reliability for emergency use.

Does the portable unit maintain full suction while charging?

Yes, the Allied Healthcare LSP Advantage Emergency Portable Suction Unit is engineered for reliable, continuous operation at full capacity while connected to an external power source.

This unit maintains full suction performance (up to 550 mm Hg vacuum power) even if the internal rechargeable battery is fully depleted or low. The unit achieves this performance when powered by:

  • An emergency vehicle docking station (DC power).
  • A standard AC outlet (115 volts, 50/60 Hz).
What are the unit's dimensions and weight?

The Allied Healthcare LSP Advantage is designed for portability in emergency medical services (EMS), featuring a compact size and low weight for easy maneuverability in vehicles like ambulances or helicopters.

Its key physical specifications are:

  • Unit Dimensions (L x W x H): 16.8” x 7.5” x 9.4” (42.7 cm x 19 cm x 24 cm)
