Description

The Surgimedics 7/8" x 6' Tubing with Attached 1/4" x 4' Medical Tubing (#905062-000) is compatible with all smoke evacuators with a 7/8" port.

Surgimedics offers a wide selection of vacuum hose, medical tubing, adapters, and collection wands for efficient capture of the airborne contaminants and odor found in surgical smoke when used with a smoke evacuator. To maximize flow rates and to minimize noise levels, Surgimedics' tubing is offered with a smooth bore inner surface. And with a number of adapters and reducers also available, Surgimedics provides optimum flexibility in choosing the right tubing for each laser or electrosurgical procedure.

Using the right tubing size or positioning the tubing in the right location is as critical to efficient smoke evacuation as the smoke evacuator's filter. A filtration system can remove particulate matter or odor from surgical smoke only if it has been captured by the collection device. Every effort, then, should be made to position the tubing as close as possible to the procedure site to maximize the amount of surgical smoke captured. The further a hose or tubing is from the procedure site, the efficiency of the smoke evacuator will decrease significantly, allowing laser plume or surgical smoke to escape into the room.

This tubing can be used as a replacement for CooperSurgical part #72102.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tubing efficiently capture surgical smoke?

Yes, this specialized tubing assembly is designed for the efficient capture of surgical smoke and odors when used with a smoke evacuator. It is critical for procedures utilizing laser or electrosurgical tools.

Key design features that maximize performance include:

  • Optimized Flow: A smooth bore inner surface is engineered to maximize flow rates.
  • Reduced Noise: The design minimizes operational noise levels.
  • Enhanced Flexibility: The attached 1/4” x 4’ medical tubing allows for flexible positioning close to the procedure site, which is essential for maximizing capture efficiency.
Is this tubing compatible with all smoke evacuators?

Yes, this Surgimedics tubing set is designed for broad compatibility with surgical equipment. It is compatible with all smoke evacuators that utilize a standard 7/8-inch port connection.

How many tubing sets come in a box?

The tubing is supplied in a box quantity of 5 individual units.

This quantity provides value for comprehensive inventory stocking for surgical smoke evacuation procedures.

Is the Surgimedics tubing sterile?

No, this Surgimedics tubing assembly is non-sterile. It is provided as a Factory New product, packaged in boxes of 5 units.

Is this tubing suitable for surgical procedures?

Yes, this tubing assembly is designed specifically for surgical smoke evacuation.

It is an essential accessory for procedures that generate airborne contaminants and odor, typically those utilizing:

  • Laser equipment
  • Electrosurgical equipment
Are adapters included with the Surgimedics tubing?

Yes, adapters are included with this tubing assembly. Since this is a dual system (7/8-inch primary tube with an attached 1/4-inch medical tube), the necessary adapters for the 7/8-inch to 1/4-inch transition are provided as part of the set.

Is this tubing optimized for high smoke evacuation flow rates?

Yes, this tubing system is specifically engineered for efficient surgical smoke evacuation and maximizing flow rates. Its key feature is the smooth bore inner surface, which is designed to:

  • Maximize flow rates for efficient contaminant capture.
  • Help minimize operational noise during the evacuation process.

This product is essential for capturing airborne contaminants and odor, and it is compatible with all smoke evacuators utilizing a standard 7/8-inch port connection.

Note: Proper positioning close to the procedure site is critical for maximizing capture efficiency, as performance decreases significantly with greater distance from the smoke source.

Is the tubing designed for quiet operation?

Yes, this specialized tubing assembly features a smooth bore inner surface. This engineering choice is specifically designed to maximize air flow rates while simultaneously minimizing operational noise levels during surgical smoke evacuation.

How does the smooth bore inner surface improve flow?

The tubing features a smooth bore inner surface specifically engineered to maximize flow rates during surgical smoke evacuation. This design element also helps to minimize operational noise, contributing to a quieter surgical environment.

What are the lengths and diameters of the dual tubing?

The tubing system consists of two specific sections designed for surgical smoke evacuation:

  • Primary Tubing: This main line measures 7/8 inches in diameter and is 6 feet long.
  • Attached Medical Tubing: This secondary section measures 1/4 inches in diameter and is 4 feet long.

Both sections are engineered with a smooth bore inner surface to ensure maximum flow rates and efficient removal of airborne contaminants.
