Description

Sklarlite Crile Hemostatic Forceps, also known as a Crile Hemostat, are most commonly used for clamping blood vessels or tissue before cauterization or ligation. Horizontal serrations the entire length of the jaw, and jaws half the length of the shank make this instrument unique. They may also be used for soft tissue dissection typically no deeper than 6-8 inches or in Laparotomy procedures. Sklarlite instruments are a lighter version of standard Sklar instruments. A unique manufacturing process developed by Sklar shaves microns off standard and delicate pattern instruments while maintaining structural integrity and durability. This lightweight modification provides the surgeon with greater control and less fatigue. This product is curved with serrated tips, and an overall length of 7-1/2 inches.

Frequently asked questions

Does the lightweight design impact the instrument's strength?

Not at all. The Sklarlite modification uses a proprietary manufacturing process to shave microns off the instrument, reducing weight to prevent surgeon fatigue while maintaining full structural integrity.

What is the primary benefit of the Crile design?

The Crile Hemostat is specifically designed for precision. It features:

Horizontal serrations spanning the entire jaw length for a secure grip.

Jaws that are precisely half the length of the shank, providing optimal leverage and control.

Is this instrument suitable for deep-tissue procedures?

Yes, with an overall length of 7-1/2 inches, this instrument is well-suited for soft tissue dissection up to 6-8 inches deep or for use in Laparotomy procedures where weight reduction is a significant advantage.

Is the stainless steel used of professional surgical grade?

Absolutely. This instrument is crafted from Sklar Premium Grade stainless steel, ensuring it meets the high standards required for professional surgical environments and repeated clinical use.

Can this be used in environments with latex sensitivities?

Yes, the Sklarlite Crile Hemostatic Forceps are not made with natural rubber latex, making them safe for use in clinical settings where latex-free instruments are required.

How secure is the locking mechanism during use?

The handle is equipped with a traditional, reliable ratchet mechanism located near the finger rings, allowing for secure, adjustable locking when clamping blood vessels or tissue.

Does the 'curved on flat' geometry offer specific advantages?

The curved on flat curvature is engineered for detailed anatomical work, allowing surgeons to reach and manipulate specific areas with greater ease and better visibility compared to straight instruments.

Are these forceps designed for multi-use sterilization?

Yes, these are professional-grade, reusable surgical instruments. They are engineered to withstand repeated sterilization cycles in professional surgical settings without compromising their performance or integrity.

Is this product compliant with government procurement standards?

Yes, this instrument is TAA compliant, meeting the stringent requirements necessary for U.S. Federal Government procurement.

Are the serrated jaws effective for delicate clamping?

The jaws feature a fine, uniform serrated working edge that runs the entire length of the jaw structure, ensuring a secure, non-slip purchase on tissue and vessels without causing unnecessary trauma.
