Description

Supercut Sklarhone Stevens Tenotomy Scissors are used for delicate dissection and cutting, commonly in ophthalmologic, neurological, and plastic surgery procedures. Tenotomy scissors have long handles and small, sharp blades with sharp or blunt wedge-shaped tips. The long handles allow the surgeon to have an adequate grip and control while dissecting or cutting in small or narrow areas. Stevens tenotomy scissors are available straight or curved and with sharp or blunt tips, in order to accommodate different procedures. Sharp tips allow precise dissection and cutting of delicate tissue, while blunt tipped blades are used more often for dissecting and cutting mucus membranes. Supercut Sklarhone scissors combine one knife-like razor edge and one micro-serrated scissor edge. These scissors can be used to cut both delicate and heavy tissue because of their unique design. The micro-serrations of the Supercut Sklarhone scissors minimize tearing of tissue so cuts and edges are smooth and clean. Sklarhone instruments are identified by dual black finger rings. This product is curved with smooth, blunt/blunt tips, and a length of 4-1/8 inches.

Frequently asked questions

Are the blades designed for both delicate and tough tissue?

Yes, the Supercut technology features a specialized dual-blade system. One blade has a knife-like razor edge for precise cutting, while the other features a micro-serrated edge. This combination allows for versatile performance when handling both fine and tougher tissue structures.

Is this instrument easy to control during delicate procedures?

Yes. These scissors are designed with long handles to provide surgeons with superior control and a reliable grip. This ergonomic design is specifically intended to assist with maneuverability within the small or narrow operative fields often encountered in ophthalmology and neurology.

Is this product safe for latex-sensitive environments?

Yes, the Sklarhone™ Super-Cut Stevens Tenotomy Scissors are not made with natural rubber latex, making them suitable for clinical environments where latex sensitivity is a concern.

How should I prepare these scissors for surgery?

These instruments are supplied non-sterile from the factory. Before they can be used in a surgical environment, they require appropriate, facility-approved cleaning and sterilization protocols to ensure they meet all necessary safety and surgical standards.

How can I quickly identify these in my tray?

Sklarhone™ instruments are easily distinguished by their signature dual black finger rings. This visual identifier helps surgical staff quickly recognize this specific premium-grade instrument during set-up and maintenance.

What quality standard does this instrument represent?

This instrument is part of the Sklar Premium grade line. These tools are precision-engineered from high-quality stainless steel to support the exacting requirements and durability needed in professional surgical environments.

Are these scissors suitable for ophthalmology?

Absolutely. These scissors are specifically designed for delicate dissection in ophthalmic, neurological, and plastic surgery procedures. Their curved, sharp-tip profile allows for the precision required in these specialized fields.

Are these scissors reusable after sterilization?

Yes, these are professional-grade, reusable surgical instruments. They are manufactured from durable stainless steel, allowing them to be cleaned and sterilized repeatedly for ongoing, long-term use in your facility.

Do the micro-serrations help prevent tissue tearing?

Yes, the micro-serrated edge is specifically engineered to ensure smooth, clean cuts. By effectively holding the tissue in place during the cut, the serrations significantly minimize tissue trauma and tearing, leading to cleaner incisions.

Does this meet standard procurement requirements?

Yes, these scissors are TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliant, ensuring they meet the necessary regulatory standards required for procurement in many professional medical supply contracts.
