Description

Sklar's Solz gold tip scissors, also know as Kaye or Sims, are a dissecting scissor used in plastic surgery procedures. The design of the shank facilitates ideal atraumatic seperation of the tissue layers. Supercut Sklarhone scissors combine one knife-like razor edge and one micro-serrated scissor edge. These scissors can be used to cut both delicate and heavy tissue because of their unique design. The micro-serrations of the Supercut Sklarhone scissors minimize tearing of tissue so cuts and edges are smooth and clean. Sklarhone instruments are identified by dual black finger rings.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Supercut technology effective for delicate tissue?

Yes, the Supercut technology is specifically designed for precision. It pairs one razor edge with one micro-serrated edge, which ensures smooth, clean cuts while actively minimizing tissue tearing, even when working with delicate layers.

Are these scissors built for long-term clinical use?

Absolutely. These instruments are designated as Sklar Premium/Grade, constructed from high-quality stainless steel to ensure exceptional durability and performance throughout years of repeated surgical use and sterilization cycles.

Can these scissors handle both delicate and heavy tissues?

Yes, they are highly versatile. The blade configuration is expertly engineered to provide clean cutting across varied tissue densities, making them an excellent choice for procedures where you encounter both delicate and heavy tissue layers.

Does the design help minimize trauma during surgery?

Yes. The shank is specifically engineered to facilitate atraumatic separation of tissue layers, allowing for precise dissection without causing unnecessary trauma to the surrounding anatomical structures.

Are these scissors safe for patients with latex allergies?

Yes. This product is manufactured without the use of natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for patients with latex sensitivities.

Are these instruments suitable for repeated sterilization cycles?

Yes. As reusable, premium-grade stainless steel instruments, they are designed to maintain their integrity and sharpness through rigorous and frequent medical-grade sterilization processes.

Why are these preferred in plastic surgery procedures?

They are a staple in plastic surgery because they provide the precision necessary for fine tissue manipulation. Their ability to deliver smooth, non-tearing incisions is critical for achieving the high-quality results required in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.

Does this instrument meet TAA compliance standards?

Yes, the Sklarhone Super-Cut Solz scissors are fully TAA compliant, meeting the regulatory standards required for procurement in medical facilities.

Is the blunt tip design advantageous for surgeons?

The blunt/blunt (B/B) tip configuration is a key safety feature. It allows surgeons to perform dissection maneuvers while significantly reducing the risk of accidental punctures or unintentional damage to nearby vital tissues.

Are these the same as Kaye or Sims scissors?

Yes, these scissors are frequently referred to as Kaye or Sims dissecting scissors within the medical field. They utilize the same specialized surgical geometry favored by professionals for these specific procedure types.
