Description

Sklar's Solz gold tip scissors, also know as Kaye or Sims, are a dissecting scissor used in plastic surgery procedures. The design of the shank facilitates ideal atraumatic seperation of the tissue layers. Supercut Sklarhone scissors combine one knife-like razor edge and one micro-serrated scissor edge. These scissors can be used to cut both delicate and heavy tissue because of their unique design. The micro-serrations of the Supercut Sklarhone scissors minimize tearing of tissue so cuts and edges are smooth and clean. Sklarhone instruments are identified by dual black finger rings.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Supercut technology prevent tissue tearing?

Yes. The Supercut design integrates one razor-sharp edge with one micro-serrated edge. This specific hybrid configuration is engineered to grip and cut through tissue cleanly, minimizing trauma and tearing during delicate dissection.

Are these scissors suitable for heavy tissue?

Absolutely. While these scissors are excellent for delicate work, they are specifically versatile enough to handle both delicate and dense tissues effectively without compromising the quality of the cut.

Is the shank design optimized for surgical efficiency?

Yes, the shank is purposefully shaped to facilitate atraumatic separation of tissue layers. This design ensures that you can dissect between layers with precision and minimal disruption to the surrounding area.

Can these scissors be reused in a sterile environment?

Yes, these are reusable professional-grade instruments. Please note they are supplied non-sterile, so they will require proper cleaning and sterilization processing according to your facility’s protocols before their first use and between procedures.

Is high-quality stainless steel used in construction?

These instruments are manufactured from high-quality stainless steel and carry the Sklar Premium Grade designation, ensuring they meet the high standards expected for surgical instrument performance and durability.

Why do the scissors have dual black rings?

The distinct dual black finger rings serve as an immediate visual identifier, allowing surgical staff to quickly recognize these as Sklarhone instruments within a crowded tray of surgical tools.

Are these scissors free from natural rubber latex?

Yes, this product is confirmed to be not made with natural rubber latex, making it suitable for use in environments or on patients where latex sensitivity is a concern.

What is the purpose of the gold tip?

The gold tip serves as a functional visual marker, allowing the surgeon to quickly identify the specific cutting edge configuration of the instrument at a glance during high-stakes procedures.

Is this instrument TAA compliant?

Yes, these scissors are TAA compliant, meeting the necessary trade regulations for use in government-funded healthcare facilities and institutions that require adherence to these specific procurement standards.

What is the primary surgical application for this model?

These scissors are specifically engineered for plastic surgery and microsurgical procedures. Their 6-inch angled design and precision blades make them ideal for tasks where tissue integrity is paramount and accuracy is non-negotiable.
