Frequently asked questions

Is this instrument made of high-grade materials?

Yes. It is crafted from durable stainless steel, making it ideal for the rigors of frequent clinical use and standard sterilization processes.

Does the non-ratcheted design allow for precise control?

Absolutely. The non-ratcheted finger ring mechanism is specifically engineered to provide the surgeon with tactile sensitivity and the delicate control required during endoscopic procedures.

Is this forceps suitable for endoscopic polyp removal?

Yes. These forceps are purpose-built for otolaryngology, specifically designed for:

  • Endoscopic removal of polyps
  • Ethmoid tissue manipulation
Are these forceps safe for latex-sensitive environments?

Yes. The Sklar Watson-Williams Nasal Forceps are manufactured without natural rubber latex, ensuring they are safe for use with both staff and patients who have latex sensitivities.

How should I prepare the instrument for use?

The instrument is shipped non-sterile. Before clinical use, it must undergo your facility’s standard sterilization protocols for surgical stainless steel instruments.

Does the smooth jaw design aid in procedures?

Yes. The smooth-edged jaws are optimized for secure yet gentle mucosal contact, which helps in minimizing trauma to delicate tissue while maintaining a reliable grasp.

Is this compatible with other standard nasal instruments?

Yes. Its design is modeled after industry-standard instruments like Weil-Blakesly and Hartmann forceps, making it a professional addition to existing surgical sets.

Are these forceps TAA compliant for procurement?

Yes, these instruments are TAA compliant, meeting the necessary requirements for U.S. federal procurement contracts.

Is the 7-1/2 inch length effective for endoscopy?

Yes. The 7-1/2 inch length is a standard configuration that provides the optimal reach required for navigating the nasal cavity and performing endoscopic maneuvers effectively.

Is this tool designed for long-term repeated use?

Yes. Because it is constructed from stainless steel and is fully reusable, this instrument is designed to withstand multiple cycles of cleaning and sterilization in busy clinical settings.
