Frequently asked questions

Is high-quality diamond dust coating used on the jaws?

Yes, these forceps feature diamond dust coated jaws. This specialized coating serves two critical purposes: it provides a significantly more secure grip on delicate tissues and enhances the instrument’s resistance to operational wear, ensuring long-term durability.

Does the handle design support precise rotational control?

Absolutely. The signature Toledo handle is specifically engineered for this. It features semi-cylindrical, texturized grips that allow the surgeon to perform smooth, rolling motions to adjust the angle of the instrument during intricate dissections.

Are these forceps suitable for handling delicate membranes?

Yes, they are ideal for that purpose. Equipped with 0.7mm atraumatic jaws, these forceps are designed for the precise holding and dissection of very small, fine vessels and thin tissue layers without causing unnecessary trauma.

Is this instrument built for repeated sterilization?

Yes. These are reusable surgical instruments constructed from high-grade stainless steel. They are designed to withstand repeated sterilization cycles, making them a durable, long-term asset for any surgical facility.

How does the angled tip improve surgical access?

The angled configuration is specifically chosen to improve maneuverability. It provides better access to difficult-to-reach or obscured areas within the surgical field compared to straight alternatives, allowing for more comfortable operation during delicate procedures.

Are these forceps free of natural rubber latex?

Yes, this product is not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for environments that require latex-free equipment.

Is the stainless steel construction durable?

Yes, these forceps are manufactured from high-quality stainless steel, a standard for professional surgical instruments. This material is chosen for its longevity, resistance to corrosion, and its ability to withstand the rigors of frequent use and sterilization.

Are these forceps compliant with government trade agreements?

Yes, this Sklar instrument is TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliant, meeting the necessary requirements for procurement in various governmental and institutional settings.

Does this tool come with a guarantee of longevity?

Yes, all Sklar Toledo Micro Forceps are backed by a Lifetime Warranty, reflecting the manufacturer’s commitment to the quality and lasting performance of the instrument.

Is the jaw texture designed for a secure hold?

Yes, the working edge features cross-serrated jaws enhanced with a diamond dust coating. This combination ensures a maximal, non-slip grip on tissues, which is essential when manipulating fine structures during microsurgery.
