Horizontal serrations the entire length of the jaw, and jaws half the length of the shank make this instrument unique. There is a ratchet locking mechanism for a tight, secure hold on vessels. They may also be used for soft tissue dissection typically no deeper than 6-8 inches or in Laparotomy procedures. This product is curved with serrated tips, and an overall length of 5-1/2 inches.

Frequently asked questions

Does the titanium construction offer better performance?

Yes, utilizing Titanium for these forceps provides exceptional durability and high-grade performance. Compared to standard instruments, this material offers superior strength-to-weight characteristics while remaining completely latex-free.

Is the ratchet mechanism reliable for secure clamping?

The forceps are equipped with a precision ratchet locking mechanism. This is specifically engineered to ensure a tight, secure hold on vessels or tissue, preventing slippage during critical procedures.

How are the jaws designed for precise grasping?

These forceps feature a specialized jaw design: 1. Horizontal Serrations: Run the entire length of the jaw to provide an enhanced grip. 2. Proportional Design: The jaws are exactly half the length of the shank, offering optimal leverage and control.

Can these be used for soft tissue dissection?

Absolutely. While primary function is vessel occlusion, these are indicated for soft tissue dissection at depths up to 6–8 inches, making them a versatile tool for Laparotomy and other surgical procedures.

Are these forceps compatible with existing surgical trays?

Yes, these are designed for seamless integration into professional surgical sets. Furthermore, they are TAA compliant, meeting the necessary procurement standards for government and clinical facility supply chains.

Are there specific cleaning requirements for these instruments?

As reusable surgical instruments, they should be processed according to standard hospital protocols for surgical steel and titanium sterilization. Please note that the instruments arrive non-sterile and must be sterilized before their first use.

Does the curved profile aid in surgical access?

The curved design is specifically chosen to improve visibility and access when working in confined surgical fields or around anatomical structures, allowing for better angles than straight forceps.

Are these tools suitable for those with latex sensitivities?

Yes, the Sklar Titanium Crile Hemostatic Forceps are not made with natural rubber latex, making them a safe and compatible choice for patients and surgical staff with latex allergies.

Are these considered high-grade surgical instruments?

They are classified under Sklar Premium Grade, which ensures that the manufacturing process meets rigorous clinical standards for consistency, balance, and operational efficacy.

Is there a long-term commitment to quality?

Sklar stands behind the engineering of these forceps by backing them with a comprehensive Lifetime warranty, reflecting the durability of the titanium construction and the precision of the manufacturing.
