Description

Sklar Thumb Tissue Forceps are used for grasping, holding, and manipulating various types of tissues in multiple procedures. These instruments have spring tension shanks that ultimately determine how far the instrument will open and the thickness of the tissue that can be held. Some thumb tissue forceps have lesser tension and can only hold fine membranes or single layer tissue. Others have greater tension and can hold thick, heavy tissue. Thumb tissue forceps are commonly toothed in order to grip the tissue more firmly than serrated tips alone. They are available in several lengths to accommodate specific procedures, tissue types, and user preference. This product is straight with 1x2 teeth and a length of 6 inches.

Frequently asked questions

Is high-quality stainless steel used in these forceps?

Yes, these forceps are crafted from professional-grade stainless steel. This durable material ensures the instrument is corrosion-resistant and capable of withstanding the repeated sterilization cycles required in demanding clinical environments.

Does the 1x2 teeth design provide a secure grip?

Absolutely. The 1x2 teeth configuration is specifically engineered to provide superior, reliable traction on tissues. It offers a much more secure hold compared to standard serrated-only tips, allowing for greater precision and control during procedures.

Are these forceps safe for latex-sensitive environments?

Yes, these forceps are not made with natural rubber latex. They are a safe, suitable choice for medical facilities, surgical centers, or patients that require strictly latex-free surgical equipment.

Are these instruments designed for multiple uses?

Yes, these are professional-grade reusable surgical instruments. They are constructed to endure the rigors of repeated medical-grade sterilization processes, providing long-term reliability and value for your practice.

Are these forceps TAA compliant for government contracting?

Yes, this model is TAA compliant. It meets the necessary regulatory standards required for institutional procurement and government contracting.

Is the 6-inch length standard for surgical use?

The 6-inch length is a highly versatile industry standard. It provides the optimal balance of leverage and hand control, making it a staple instrument for fine dissection and general tissue handling tasks.

Are the forceps delivered in a sterile state?

No, these forceps are supplied non-sterile. They are intended to be processed and autoclaved through your facility’s established sterilization protocols before their first use.

Do these forceps offer responsive spring tension?

Yes, the spring tension shanks are carefully calibrated to offer excellent tactile feedback. This design allows the user to effectively control the instrument’s opening range, accommodating everything from fine membranes to thicker tissue.

Is the quality backed by a warranty?

Yes, this product is supported by a comprehensive Lifetime warranty. This reflects Sklar’s commitment to manufacturing standards and their confidence in the long-term performance of this instrument.

Can these be used for general surgical procedures?

These forceps are highly versatile, designed for the secure grasping and manipulation of tissues across a wide range of surgical applications. Their robust build and precise tip configuration make them an ideal addition to any standard surgical tray.
