Is this instrument suitable for delicate surgical procedures?

Absolutely. It is designed for high-precision tasks and is ideal for:

  • Cardiovascular surgery
  • Plastic surgery
  • Neurosurgery

The 5-inch length and narrow jaws make it perfect for managing very fine suture materials with accuracy.

Are the materials used in this instrument durable?

This needle holder is part of the Sklar Premium Grade line. It is constructed from high-quality stainless steel combined with durable tungsten carbide inserts at the working end to ensure long-term reliability and performance.

What is the purpose of the gold-colored finger rings?

The gold finger rings serve as a functional visual identifier, indicating that the instrument is equipped with tungsten carbide inserts. This helps surgeons and staff quickly distinguish it from standard stainless steel models in a busy surgical environment.

Does this tool come pre-sterilized?

No, the instrument is supplied non-sterile. It must undergo appropriate sterilization processes in accordance with your facility’s protocols before being used in any clinical procedure.

Is this product free from natural rubber latex?

Yes, this Sklar Ryder Needle Holder is manufactured without natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for surgical environments where latex allergies are a concern.

What does the CensiTrac marking on this instrument mean?

The CensiTrac marking indicates that the instrument is compatible with advanced instrument tracking and management systems, allowing for improved inventory control and sterilization documentation within a clinical setting.

How does the ratcheting mechanism function?

The instrument features a built-in ratchet mechanism located near the finger rings. This allows the surgeon to securely lock the needle holder at a specific tension, ensuring the needle remains held in place during suturing without continuous manual pressure.
