Description

Sklar's Sypert Double-Action Rongeur is a large, orthopedic instrument used for removing portions of bone or dense bony tissue. It is available with a variety of jaw sizes to suit the sections of bone requiring removal. Due to its overall size, it is most appropriately used on bone in unrestricted surgical sites where potential damage to surrounding structures is low. The neck of this rongeur is longer than most double-action rongeurs due to the greater distance between the hinges. Whereas most double action rongeurs feature all of the hinges in close proximity to one another, the first pivot hinge on this Sypert rongeur is a greater distance from the second, thus creating the long neck. The jaws have sharp, eliptical shape, scooping tips that gnaw away at the target area. The double spring, plier handles feature one horn on the upper handle to provide the user with a more comfortable and controlling grip. This product has smooth, 12mm wide, jaws with an overall length of 14-1/2 inches.
