This retractor is available as a single or double-ended instrument with the blades always curved at right angles. This product is double-ended. The blades are curved at right angles, facing the same direction but are two different lengths. Commonly, one blade is inserted into the vagina, and by using either the middle section or opposite blade, the user retracts the anterior wall so that the posterior wall can be viewed. The entire instrument has a trough shape which serves to catch and drain blood or fluid that may exit the surgical site. This product is the #2 Sims retractor.
