Yes, this Senn Retractor is constructed from premium stainless steel. This material is chosen specifically for its durability and its ability to withstand repeated sterilization and surgical use, ensuring a long, reliable lifespan for the instrument.

Does the double-ended design offer better procedural versatility?

Absolutely. The dual-purpose design is highly versatile, featuring two distinct working ends in one compact instrument:

  • Angled blunt blade: Perfect for alternative tissue manipulation and holding.

This combination reduces the need to switch instruments during a procedure.

Are the prongs gentle enough for delicate tissue?

Yes, the instrument is specifically designed with blunt prongs. This configuration is intentional to provide effective retraction while minimizing trauma to delicate surface tissues, making it a safe choice for precision work.

Can this instrument withstand repeated sterilization for reuse?

Yes, as a high-quality stainless steel medical instrument, it is designed to be fully reusable. It is engineered to withstand standard medical reprocessing and sterilization protocols, allowing it to be used repeatedly in a professional environment.

Is this specific tool recommended for plastic surgery?

Yes, this retractor is highly suited for plastic surgery. Its 6-1/4 inch length and precise, blunt-tipped rake make it an excellent choice for surface tissue retraction where control and accuracy are paramount.

Does this retractor contain any natural rubber latex?

No, this instrument is explicitly not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safer option for both patients and medical staff who may have latex sensitivities or allergies.

Is this device fully TAA compliant?

Yes, the Sklar Senn Retractor is TAA Compliant. This ensures it meets the necessary standards for government procurement and quality assurance, confirming its suitability for professional medical facilities.

Does the handle provide a secure, steady grip?

The handle features a straight, flat design which is specifically crafted to provide the surgeon with a firm, stable, and comfortable grip. This ergonomic feature is essential for maintaining control during precise surgical procedures.

Does this arrive ready for immediate surgical use?
