Description

Sklar's Sarot Bronchus Clamp is a ratcheted, finger ring instrument used to grip, hold, and move parts of the bronchus (large airways) while suturing or stapling during procedures involving the lungs or trachea. Because the tissue of the bronchus is dense, this instrument has unique tips that have long serrations the entire length of the jaws, and feature sharp pins and holes that will line up to provide a stable hold. When the pins align with the holes on the opposite tip, the ratcheted locking mechanism can be utilized to ensure the dense tissue remains clamped during the procedure. This instrument has long jaws that are available curved or angled, left or right, so as to be utilized most efficiently on either side of the patient. This product is curved left and is 9 inches long.

Frequently asked questions

Does this clamp hold dense bronchial tissue securely?

Yes. This instrument is engineered specifically for dense tissue by utilizing long serrations that run the entire length of the jaws, combined with sharp pins and aligning holes. This design ensures a stable, non-slip hold during complex surgical procedures.

Is the locking mechanism reliable during surgery?

Absolutely. The clamp features a high-quality ratcheted locking mechanism. This allows the surgeon to lock the instrument securely in place once the pins and holes are aligned, ensuring the tissue remains firmly clamped throughout the duration of the procedure.

Is this instrument built to withstand repeated sterilization?

Yes, this clamp is designed for durability and longevity. It is constructed from premium stainless steel, allowing it to be cleaned and sterilized repeatedly for reuse in clinical environments.

What is the primary benefit of the angled jaw design?

The leftward angle of the long jaws is specifically designed to optimize maneuverability and access within the thoracic cavity. It allows the surgeon to operate more efficiently on the left side of the patient by providing an ergonomic reach.

Is this surgical instrument safe for patients with latex allergies?

Yes. The Sklar Sarot Bronchus Clamp is guaranteed to be Not Made With Natural Rubber Latex, making it a safe choice for surgical environments where latex-free compliance is required.

Is this product compliant with TAA regulations?

Yes, this instrument is fully TAA compliant, meeting the necessary regulatory standards for use in government and institutional healthcare facilities.

Does the design support precision during suturing?

The clamp is specifically intended for suturing or stapling procedures involving the lungs or trachea. Its 9-inch length provides the reach and leverage necessary for precision, while the interlocking pin-and-hole system keeps the surgical field steady.

Does the instrument arrive in a sterile condition?

No, this product is supplied non-sterile. It is intended to be processed through your facility’s standard sterilization protocols before its first use in a surgical setting.

How do I maintain the instrument's longevity?

To ensure a long service life, it is recommended to follow standard medical-grade stainless steel cleaning and sterilization procedures. Because it is a precision instrument, maintaining the integrity of the serrations and the ratcheted hinge will ensure it performs consistently for years.

Is this the correct tool for pulmonary procedures?

Yes, this clamp is highly specialized for thoracic surgery. Its design features are specifically tailored to the unique requirements of manipulating bronchial tissue, providing the secure hold required for high-stakes procedures involving the large airways.
