Frequently asked questions

How does the safety guard help protect the patient?

The scissors feature an integrated plastic safety guard with a specialized flattened blunt nodule tip. This design allows you to slide the lower blade securely between the skin and the bandage, creating a protective buffer that prevents accidental dermal trauma while cutting.

Is the material durable enough for daily clinical use?

Yes, these are constructed from high-quality stainless steel, ensuring they are robust enough for the rigors of professional medical environments. They are engineered as a reusable instrument designed to maintain performance over time.

Are these scissors safe for patients with latex allergies?

Absolutely. These scissors are 100% latex-free. Both the finger rings and the protective safety guard are manufactured from high-quality, latex-free plastic, making them safe for use with all patients.

Are the finger rings designed for comfortable, secure handling?

Yes, the scissors feature traditional, ergonomic finger rings. This design provides a secure and comfortable grip, allowing for precise control when removing bandages in delicate situations.

Are these scissors provided in sterile packaging?

No, these scissors are provided non-sterile. As with all professional-grade, reusable surgical instruments, you should follow your facility’s standard sterilization or disinfection protocols before using them for the first time.

Do these meet professional regulatory requirements?

Yes, these scissors meet TAA compliance standards. This certification ensures they meet the necessary requirements for professional use in medical settings and government-contracted environments.

Is the angled blade design effective for leverage?

Yes, the blades are specifically angled after the screw lock. This configuration is intentional; it improves cutting leverage and makes the motion of sliding the scissors under a bandage smoother and more efficient.

Why is the bright pink color a helpful feature?

Beyond providing a professional and distinctive look, the high-visibility pink color of the finger rings and safety guard helps you quickly identify and locate your scissors in a busy clinical setting or inside a crowded first-aid kit.

Can these be used for other cutting needs besides bandages?

While they are engineered specifically for removing bandages, their blunt/blunt (B/B) tip configuration makes them excellent for any application where you need to cut material safely close to a surface without piercing the underlying layer.

Does this product come with any form of guarantee?

Yes, these scissors are backed by a Lifetime warranty against defects, reflecting the manufacturer’s commitment to quality and the longevity of the instrument.
