Frequently asked questions

Does the CensiTrac marking help with inventory tracking?

Yes, the CensiTrac marking is specifically designed to facilitate efficient inventory management, instrument tracking, and sterilization documentation within clinical environments. It allows facilities to easily integrate the tool into digital tracking systems.

Can these forceps securely hold tissue during procedures?

Absolutely. These forceps feature a ratcheted locking mechanism that allows for secure, sustained clamping without requiring continuous manual pressure from the surgeon. Combined with the fully serrated jaws, they provide superior and reliable tissue retention.

Is the stainless steel grade suitable for sterilization?

Yes, this instrument is constructed from high-quality, durable stainless steel designed for repeated medical reprocessing. It is built to withstand the rigors of frequent sterilization cycles required for reusable surgical tools.

Are these forceps safe for patients with latex sensitivities?

Yes, you can use these with confidence. The Sklar Mixter Right Angle Forceps are 100% latex-free and are not manufactured using natural rubber latex.

How effective is the jaw design for deep surgery?

The 90-degree right angle curvature is engineered specifically for deep or obscured surgical sites. This geometry provides optimal access and manipulation in confined spaces where straight instruments may struggle to reach.

Are these forceps TAA compliant?

Yes, this product meets TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliance standards, making it suitable for procurement in government and federal healthcare settings.

Are these forceps compatible with standard surgical sets?

They are highly versatile and commonly integrated into a variety of specialized surgical kits, including:

  • Open heart and pacemaker sets
  • Plastic and mammoplasty surgery sets
  • Orthopedic and laparoscopic sets
Is the serration pattern effective for delicate tissue?

The jaws feature precision serrations along their entire length, ensuring a firm, non-slip grip. This is designed to provide maximum control during fine dissection and manipulation tasks.

Does the instrument arrive sterile?

No, this instrument is supplied non-sterile. It is intended to be processed and sterilized by your facility according to your standard operating procedures before its first use.

How long are these forceps?

The forceps measure 9-1/4 inches (approx. 23.5 cm) in length, providing an excellent balance between reach for obscured sites and ergonomic control via the finger-ring handles.
