Description

Sklar Lorna (Edna) Towel Clamps are a non-perforating clamp used to secure instruments, and surgical materials such as tubing and towels to the drape surrounding a surgical site. The jaws and tips are curved while the shanks and handle are flat so they can rest on the patient. The teeth on the tips of this towel clamp are blunted so they grip tightly but do not penetrate the surgical drape. They also have ratcheted finger ring handles so a firm hold can be secured. The Lorna Towel Clamp is also commonly referred to as the Edna Towel Clamp. This clamp should never be used on skin. This product is 5-1/4 inches long.

Frequently asked questions

Does the clamp help maintain the integrity of the sterile field?

Yes. The non-perforating design features blunted, serrated tips that grip surgical drapes securely without puncturing the material, which is vital for maintaining the integrity of your sterile field.

Is this instrument built to withstand repeated sterilization cycles?

Absolutely. Constructed from durable, high-grade stainless steel, this clamp is specifically engineered for repeated use in clinical environments and can withstand standard sterilization processes.

Does the locking mechanism provide a reliable and secure hold?

Yes. The instrument is equipped with ratcheted finger ring handles, allowing for a firm, maintained grasp on surgical drapes and tubing throughout the duration of your procedure.

Is this instrument safe for direct use on human skin?

No. This instrument is strictly designed for securing surgical drapes, tubing, and related materials adjacent to the operative site; it should never be used directly on a patient’s skin.

Is high-quality, professional-grade material used in its construction?

Yes. The clamp is manufactured from professional-grade stainless steel, ensuring the durability and precision required for demanding surgical tasks.

Does this product meet TAA compliance standards?

Yes, the Sklar Lorna (Edna) Towel Clamp is fully TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliant.

Is the design ergonomic for comfortable use during surgery?

It is designed with precision in mind; it features curved jaws and tips contrasted by flat shanks, allowing the instrument to rest comfortably on the patient without unnecessary bulk or movement.

Is the clamp free from natural rubber latex?

Yes, this product is manufactured without the use of natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for environments concerned with latex sensitivity.

Does the clamp arrive ready to use out of the box?

The instrument is shipped non-sterile. It must undergo proper cleaning and sterilization procedures in your facility before its first use in a surgical setting.

Can this be used to manage surgical tubing during operations?
