Frequently asked questions

Is the stainless steel construction highly durable?

Yes, this instrument is manufactured from high-quality stainless steel, ensuring it is built for longevity and the rigors of repeated clinical use.

Is the double-beveled blade effective for precise cuts?

The double-beveled blade profile is specifically designed to facilitate controlled bone separation, functioning much like a precision chisel to allow surgeons to adjust pressure manually throughout the procedure.

Does the curved profile improve anatomical access?

Yes, the curved profile of this 9-inch osteotome provides significant maneuverability advantages, making it ideal for reaching and shaping bone in anatomically constrained areas where straight instruments may struggle.

Is this instrument safe for patients with latex allergies?

Absolutely. The Sklar Lambotte Osteotome is not made with natural rubber latex, ensuring safety for both medical staff and patients with latex sensitivities.

How should this instrument be prepared for clinical use?

The osteotome is supplied as a non-sterile item. It must undergo appropriate sterilization protocols in your facility before being used in any surgical procedure.

Is this a TAA-compliant medical instrument?

Yes, this instrument meets TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliance standards, making it a suitable choice for government procurement and institutional requirements.

Are Sklar surgical instruments reliable?

Sklar instruments are recognized for their quality and consistency. This specific model is part of the ‘Grade Sklar’ designation and is backed by a lifetime warranty, reflecting the manufacturer’s confidence in its durability.

Is this suitable for frequent surgical procedures?

Yes, as a reusable surgical instrument, it is designed to withstand the repeated sterilization and handling required for high-frequency use in professional surgical settings.

What is the primary advantage of the Lambotte design?

The Lambotte family of osteotomes is highly regarded for its robust, manual operation. The primary benefit is the ability for the surgeon to have tactile feedback and precise control over the cutting force applied to the bone.

Is the 9-inch length standard for this type of procedure?

The 9-inch length is a professional standard that provides an ideal balance between leverage and precision, allowing for effective manual bone manipulation while remaining easy for the surgeon to handle.
