Is this instrument built for long-term clinical use?

Yes, this is a professional-grade medical instrument. It is crafted from high-quality, durable stainless steel and is designed for repeated sterilization and reuse, making it a reliable, sustainable choice for busy medical environments.

How effectively does the blade cut through metal?

The cutter utilizes a precision-engineered toothed rotary blade. This blade is advanced manually by turning a thumb screw, which allows for a controlled, steady, and precise slicing action, specifically optimized for soft metals.

Are there special markings for inventory tracking?

Yes, this model features CensiTrac markings. These etchings provide enhanced traceability, which is invaluable for facilities that need to monitor instrument usage, sterilization cycles, and inventory management.

Can I use this on different types of metals?

This instrument is primarily optimized for use on soft metal rings. While it is highly efficient for emergency removals, it is best suited for materials like gold, silver, or other softer alloys commonly used in jewelry.

Does this require any special handling or sterilization?

The Sklar Keyes Ring Cutter arrives non-sterile. Because it is a high-quality, reusable stainless steel instrument, it should be sterilized according to your facility’s standard protocols for surgical instruments before its first use and between subsequent procedures.
