Description

Sklar's DeBakey Atraumatic Tangential Occlusion Clamp is a ratcheted, finger ring clamp used in cardiovascular procedures to provide partial clamping of vessels. The clamp holds a section of the vessel wall while blood continues to flow through the open section. The ratcheted handle allows the surgeon to adjust and maintain blood flow as necessary for the presenting conditions. The fine, nontraumatic teeth on this clamp causes little to no damage to the vessel. This clamp is also useful in vascular grafting procedures. This product has a double angle with 1x2 rows of fine, atraumatic teeth, and a length of 9-3/4 inches.

Frequently asked questions

Does this clamp minimize tissue trauma during surgery?

Yes. This instrument is specifically engineered with 1x2 rows of fine, nontraumatic teeth. This specialized design provides a secure grip while significantly reducing the risk of vessel wall damage during delicate cardiovascular procedures.

Can surgeons lock the clamp at specific pressures?

Absolutely. The clamp features a ratcheted handle mechanism that allows surgeons to precisely adjust and lock the clamping pressure, ensuring consistent and optimal control throughout the surgical procedure.

Is the stainless steel high-grade for long-term use?

Yes, this instrument is manufactured from high-quality surgical-grade stainless steel. This durable construction is designed to withstand the rigors of repeated sterilization and surgical use, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Does it include tracking technology for inventory management?

Yes, this specific model is CensiTrac marked. This integration supports efficient instrument tracking, management, and identification within medical facility sterilization and supply systems.

Is the double-angled geometry helpful for difficult sites?

The double-angled curvature is a key feature that provides surgeons with enhanced accessibility, making it easier to reach and manipulate challenging surgical sites during vascular grafting or cardiovascular operations.

Is the material safe for patients with latex allergies?

Yes. This instrument is confirmed to be not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for use in clinical environments where latex sensitivities are a concern.

Does it allow for continued blood flow?

Yes, the unique tangential occlusion design is specifically created to isolate a precise portion of a vessel wall. This allows the surgeon to hold the tissue securely while maintaining essential blood flow through the remainder of the vessel.

Is this clamp compliant with procurement regulations?

Yes, the Sklar DeBakey Tangential Clamp is TAA compliant, meeting the requirements for medical procurement in government and institutional healthcare settings.

How should this instrument be processed before first use?

Since this instrument arrives non-sterile, it must be properly cleaned and sterilized according to your facility’s standard protocols for reusable surgical instrumentation before its first surgical use.

Is the handle design ergonomic for long surgeries?

The instrument features large, rounded finger rings designed to provide a comfortable, stable, and ergonomic grip for the surgeon, which is essential for maintaining precision during extended cardiovascular procedures.
