Description

Sklar's DeBakey Atraumatic Tangential Occlusion Clamp is a ratcheted, finger ring clamp used in cardiovascular procedures to provide partial clamping of vessels. The clamp holds a section of the vessel wall while blood continues to flow through the open section. The ratcheted handle allows the surgeon to adjust and maintain blood flow as necessary for the presenting conditions. The fine, nontraumatic teeth on this clamp causes little to no damage to the vessel. This clamp is also useful in vascular grafting procedures. This product has a double angle with 1x2 rows of fine, atraumatic teeth, and a length of 10-1/2 inches.

Frequently asked questions

Does this clamp minimize tissue damage during surgery?

Yes, this instrument is designed specifically for atraumatic grasp. It features fine, nontraumatic teeth arranged in 1x2 rows, which are engineered to minimize trauma to delicate vessel walls while maintaining a secure hold.

Can surgeons precisely control the level of vessel occlusion?

Absolutely. The clamp features a ratcheted handle mechanism that provides granular control. This allows the surgeon to precisely adjust and maintain the exact level of vessel occlusion required for the procedure.

Is this instrument built to withstand repeated sterilization cycles?

Yes, this is a reusable grade instrument. It is constructed from high-quality stainless steel, making it durable and suitable for repeated sterilization cycles in a clinical environment.

Is the design suitable for complex cardiovascular maneuvers?

The clamp features a double angled design, which is specifically engineered to provide optimal positioning and improved accessibility when performing complex surgical maneuvers.

Is the material safe for patients with latex allergies?

Yes, this product is not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for use with patients who have latex sensitivities.

What is the primary function of this tangential clamp?

This clamp is designed for the partial occlusion of blood vessels. Its primary function is to securely hold a section of a vessel wall while allowing controlled, residual blood flow through the remaining open portion of the vessel.

Does the clamp feature CensiTrac identification?

Yes, this specific model comes CensiTrac marked, allowing for efficient instrument tracking and management within your surgical facility.

Is this instrument appropriate for vascular grafting procedures?

Yes, in addition to general cardiovascular procedures, it is explicitly indicated for use in vascular grafting procedures where precise control of blood flow is essential.

Is this a TAA compliant product?

Yes, this instrument is TAA compliant, meeting the necessary requirements for federal procurement and supply chain standards.

Does the product come ready for immediate surgical use?

The instrument is supplied non-sterile. Please ensure that the clamp undergoes your facility’s standard sterilization protocols before its first use in a clinical setting.
