Frequently asked questions

Does the CensiTrac marking improve instrument tracking?

Yes. The CensiTrac marking is specifically designed to facilitate enhanced instrument tracking and inventory management within professional surgical environments.

Is the stainless steel construction highly durable?

Absolutely. These forceps are crafted from high-quality, medical-grade stainless steel, ensuring the durability and corrosion resistance required for repeated surgical use and sterilization.

Are the serrated jaws effective for non-slip grasping?

The jaws are engineered with horizontal serrations that run the entire length of the jaw. This design is specifically optimized to provide a secure, firm grip on blood vessels or tissue, preventing slippage during procedures.

How reliable is the ratchet locking mechanism?

The integrated ratchet mechanism is built to provide a secure and tight hold once the instrument is clamped, ensuring the forceps remain locked in place on tissue or vessels until released by the surgeon.

Is this instrument safe for patients with latex allergies?

Yes, the Sklar Crile Forceps are not made with natural rubber latex, making them a safe choice for patients with latex sensitivities.

Can this be used for soft tissue dissection?

Yes, while primarily used for hemostasis, the design is versatile enough to be used for soft tissue dissection, particularly in procedures up to 6 to 8 inches in depth.

Is the design suitable for laparotomy procedures?

Yes, these 6-1/4 inch straight forceps are well-suited for use in Laparotomy procedures due to their reliable grip and precision-engineered shank length.

Is the jaw-to-shank ratio beneficial for surgical control?

The jaws are specifically designed to be half the length of the shank. This optimized ratio provides better leverage and mechanical advantage for precise clamping and manipulation.

Are these forceps compliant with government procurement standards?

Yes, the product is TAA compliant, meeting the necessary standards for government and institutional procurement.

Is this a reusable instrument?

Yes, this is a reusable surgical instrument. It is intended to withstand the rigors of standard hospital sterilization processes, offering a long-term, high-quality solution for surgical teams.
