They are often used in colposcopy procedures to obtain cervical tissue samples for biopsy. The bite of this standard Tischler punch is 3mm x 7mm and it produces an oval shaped tissue sample. A standard size biopsy punch may produce greater bleeding than a mini or baby punch; however, with certain diagnoses it is necessary to obtain a larger tissue sample. The length of this product, which is the cannula and the tip only, is approximately 8 inches.
