Description

Sklar Blue Bozeman Forceps are a multi-functional instrument commonly used in gynecological procedures. They are used for tissue removal in dilation and curettage procedures, intrauterine device retrieval, and packing the uterine cavity. The shanks of this instrument are slightly curved and therefore provide greater visibility when used in the uterine cavity. The jaws are available either curved or straight. Sklar Blue electrosurgical instruments feature high quality stainless steel with an insulated coating. This safe coating prevents radio frequency currents from being transmitted through the instrument which reduces the burning of non-targeted tissue. Sklar Blue instruments are fully autoclavable and may also be cleaned ultrasonically. All Sklar Blue coated instruments comply with biological testing requirements for cytotoxicity, sensitization regulatory, and ISO 10993 requirements. They also comply with the Pre-Vacuum and Gravity Cycle Steam Sterilization Validation of ANSI/AAMI ST79. Sklar Blue electrosurgical coatings are guaranteed for one year against manufacturing defects. This product is straight with partial horizontal serrations and a length of 10-1/2 inches.

Frequently asked questions

Does the insulation coating provide reliable protection during electrosurgery?

Yes, the Sklar Blue electrosurgical system is specifically engineered with an insulated coating that prevents the transmission of radio frequency currents. This helps to significantly mitigate the risk of burning non-targeted tissues during procedures. This specialized coating is also backed by a one-year guarantee against manufacturing defects.

Is this instrument designed for long-term clinical use?

Absolutely. These forceps are built for durability and repeated use. They are constructed from high-quality stainless steel and are fully autoclavable and suitable for ultrasonic cleaning, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of a busy surgical environment.

How do these forceps improve visibility during gynecological procedures?

While the jaw configuration is straight, the instrument features slightly curved shanks. This intentional design choice provides practitioners with greater visibility within the confined space of the uterine cavity during use.

Are these forceps safe to use for patients with latex allergies?

Yes, this product is not made with natural rubber latex, making it a suitable choice for clinical settings where latex-free instruments are required to ensure patient safety.

Does the instrument ensure a secure grip during tissue manipulation?

Yes, the working edge is designed with partial horizontal serrations. These serrations provide the necessary friction for a secure and precise grip when performing tissue removal, IUD retrieval, or packing the uterine cavity.

Does this tool meet established medical sterilization standards?

Yes, it is fully compliant with ANSI/AAMI ST79 standards for pre-vacuum and gravity cycle steam sterilization validation, ensuring it can be integrated safely into your facility’s existing sterilization protocols.

What kind of biological safety testing has this instrument undergone?

The forceps comply with stringent ISO 10993 biological testing requirements, including protocols for cytotoxicity and sensitization, ensuring that the materials are safe for clinical application.

How does the locking mechanism perform during delicate procedures?

The instrument is equipped with standard finger rings and a reliable ratchet locking mechanism. This allows the surgeon to lock the jaws in place at the desired tension, ensuring stability while manipulating tissue or packing the cavity.

Is this product recognized as a high-grade surgical instrument?

Yes, this is a Sklar OR-grade instrument. It is manufactured as a factory-new, professional-grade surgical tool designed specifically for gynecological applications requiring high precision and reliability.

Does this instrument offer a lifetime warranty?

Yes, these Bozeman Uterine Dressing Forceps are covered by a lifetime warranty, reflecting the manufacturer’s commitment to the quality and longevity of their stainless steel surgical instruments.
