Description

Sklar Black Bozeman Forceps are a multi-functional instrument commonly used in gynecological procedures. They are used for tissue removal in dilation and curettage procedures, intrauterine device retrieval, and packing the uterine cavity. The shanks of this instrument are slightly curved and therefore provide greater visibility when used in the uterine cavity. The jaws are available either curved or straight. Sklar Black Laser instruments feature a non-reflective black polymer coating applied over the sandblasted instrument developed specifically for laser surgeries. This safe, durable coating reduces laser reflection to less than one-tenth of a percent, ensuring a safer surgical environment for patients and surgical staff. All Sklar Black coated instruments comply with biological testing requirements for cytotoxicity, sensitization regulatory, and ISO 10993 requirements. They also comply with the Pre-Vacuum and Gravity Cycle Steam Sterilization Validation of ANSI/AAMI ST79. Sklar Black laser coatings are guaranteed for one year against manufacturing defects. This product features an "S" curve (slightly curved shanks with jaws slightly curved opposite direction) with partial horizontal serrations and a length of 10-1/4 inches. This product has one larger finger ring on the handle and may also be known as Bozeman-Douglas Forceps due to this feature.

Is this forceps suitable for standard sterilization protocols?

Yes, this instrument is fully compatible with professional sterilization standards. It adheres to Pre-Vacuum and Gravity Cycle Steam Sterilization Validation in accordance with ANSI/AAMI ST79.

Are the materials used in this instrument biocompatible?

Absolutely. The instrument is crafted from high-quality stainless steel and is fully compliant with ISO 10993 biological testing requirements, including standards for cytotoxicity and sensitization.

Does the Bozeman-Douglas style improve ergonomics?

Yes, the handle configuration, which includes one noticeably larger finger ring, is designed to provide better control and comfort for the surgeon during complex gynecological procedures.

Can this be used for tissue removal?

This forceps is highly versatile and is specifically designed for multiple gynecological applications, including:

  • Tissue removal during D&C procedures
  • IUD retrieval
  • Packing the uterine cavity
Is the material free from natural rubber latex?
