Description

Simport Secureseal Thermal Adhesive Sealing Film. This transparent sealing tape consists of a 2.0 mil polyolefin film coated on one side with a pressure sensitive acrylate adhesive which does not interfere with cycle reactions. Ideal for reducing well-to-well contamination and/or spill over in sensitive PCR applications where the minimization of evaporation and vapor loss is critical. Not only does it offer low-autofluorescence but it will prevent vapor loss and is thermostable and functional from -70°C to +95°C. Manufactured RNAse, DNAse and DNA-free. DMSO resistant.

Frequently asked questions

Is the sealing film highly thermostable?

The Simport Secureseal film is engineered for excellent thermal stability, making it reliable for all sensitive PCR and thermal cycling applications. It maintains its functional integrity across a broad temperature range, from -70°C to +95°C.

This robust thermal stability is crucial for minimizing evaporation and vapor loss, ensuring sample integrity and preventing well-to-well contamination during standard molecular biology workflows.

How thick is the polyolefin sealing film?

The Simport Secureseal is constructed from a robust 2.0 mil polyolefin film. This thickness is paired with a pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive, which ensures a reliable seal for sensitive molecular biology procedures, such as PCR, without interfering with the cycle reactions.

What robust materials create this thermal seal?

The Secureseal Thermal Adhesive Sealing Film is constructed from high-purity components designed specifically for sensitive PCR and thermal cycling protocols:

Film Material: A robust 2.0 mil polyolefin film forms the core. This material is transparent and exhibits low autofluorescence, which is necessary for accurate optical readings during assays.

Adhesive: A specially formulated pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive coats the film. This non-interfering adhesive provides a strong, contamination-free barrier that effectively minimizes evaporation and prevents well-to-well cross-contamination.

This construction ensures the film maintains integrity across an extreme thermal range, from -70°C up to +95°C, and is resistant to common laboratory chemicals like DMSO. The film is also certified RNAse, DNAse, and DNA-free.

Does the film have superior thermal stability for PCR?

Yes, the Simport Secureseal film is engineered for highly demanding thermal cycling protocols, including PCR and qPCR. It is constructed to ensure minimal evaporation and cross-contamination.

Key features that guarantee its superior performance in sensitive assays include:

Wide Thermal Range: The film maintains a secure seal and integrity across a wide temperature spectrum, from -70°C up to +95°C, accommodating all necessary cycling steps.

High Purity: It is certified RNAse-free, DNAse-free, and DNA-free, which is essential for sensitive nucleic acid work.

Chemical Compatibility: The 2.0 mil polyolefin film is resistant to DMSO and exhibits low autofluorescence, ensuring it does not interfere with optical readings or chemical reactions.

Is the Simport Secureseal™ Thermal Adhesive Sealing Film resistant to DMSO?

Yes, the Simport Secureseal™ Thermal Adhesive Sealing Film is DMSO resistant, making it suitable for applications involving this solvent.

Is the sealing film guaranteed RNAse, DNAse, and DNA-free?

Yes, this sealing film is manufactured by Simport Scientific to meet the stringent purity requirements necessary for sensitive molecular biology procedures, such as PCR and qPCR.

The film is certified free of critical biological contaminants:

RNAse-free

DNAse-free

DNA-free

This robust contamination profile ensures the film will not interfere with your sensitive experiments. Furthermore, the adhesive itself is designed not to interfere with standard cycle reactions, maximizing the reliability of your results.

Does this film offer superior contamination control?

Yes, the Simport Secureseal Thermal Adhesive Sealing Film is specifically engineered for superior contamination control during sensitive thermal cycling procedures like PCR. It actively protects sample integrity through several specialized features:

Contamination Prevention: Effectively reduces well-to-well contamination and spill-over, while minimizing evaporation and vapor loss.

Guaranteed Purity: Manufactured to be certified RNAse-free, DNAse-free, and DNA-free, meeting stringent laboratory standards for molecular assays.

Thermal Stability: The robust 2.0 mil polyolefin film maintains a strong, reliable seal across a wide range, functional from -70°C to +95°C.

Non-Interfering: The pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive is chemically inert and does not interfere with cycle reactions.

Does the sealing film have low autofluorescence?

Yes, the Simport Secureseal Thermal Adhesive Sealing Film exhibits low autofluorescence, which helps to minimize background interference during sensitive PCR applications.
