Super quality, odd way to secure it

Exactly what I expected as far as quality, it's best to install this before using the stool otherwise it's a bit of a wrestling match to get the gas strut off of the base.

The two set screws really dig in and dent the gas strut, it's kind of a permanent thing once it's on. Wobbles, but set screws keep it from rotating. Basically this ring seems to want to sit at the lowest spot, supported by the base itself. It's OK though, as long as you want it there, and it's the ideal spot for me, so I am happy with it.
