Description

The Rhythmlink Disposable MR Conditional EEG Deep Cup Electrode (12 per pack) is intended for use in the recording of the EEG, EP, or as a ground or reference in an EEG or EP recording. Featuring a "deeper cup" that holds approximately 3.5 times more gel than the standard "slim" cup, these top-of-the-line electrodes eliminate the need to remove and reapply EEG electrodes each time a patient requires imaging. Non-sterile, they may remain on a patient each time they require an MRI, but can't be used for data collection while in an MR environment.

Warranty: Until Use or Expiration.

Frequently asked questions

How much more gel does the deep cup hold?

The Rhythmlink Deep Cup electrode is specifically designed to maximize gel capacity for enhanced signal stability during extended monitoring.

  • The cup’s recessed depth is 3.4 mm.
  • It holds approximately 3.5 times more conductive gel compared to standard slim cup electrodes.

This increased capacity is essential for maintaining signal consistency over long periods, minimizing the need for frequent electrode repositioning, even when the patient requires MR Conditional (1.5T and 3T) or artifact-free CT imaging.

Are these high-quality electrodes MR conditional?

These Rhythmlink Deep Cup Electrodes are indeed high-quality and designated as MR Conditional, making them specifically engineered for multi-modal imaging workflows.

Key features for imaging compatibility:

  • MR Conditional Status: They are FDA Cleared for use in both 1.5 Tesla (T) and 3T MRI environments, allowing electrodes to remain safely attached to the patient during imaging.
  • CT Compatibility: The electrodes provide artifact-free results during CT scanning when left in place.
  • Superior Gel Capacity: The deep cup holds approximately 3.5 times more conductive gel than standard slim cups, which helps maintain signal quality and reduces the need for reapplication when patients transition to imaging.
  • Optimized Cable Management: A 9-inch (240 mm) disconnect point is featured, allowing the connection to easily fall outside the patient’s headwrap for simplified cable handling.
How many electrodes are included per pack?

Each package contains 12 disposable EEG Deep Cup Electrodes.

These units are designed for clinical efficiency and safety:

  • They are disposable to help reduce the risk of cross-contamination between procedures.
  • The product is supplied in a non-sterile condition.
Are these electrodes used for quality EEG and EP recordings?

Yes, these electrodes are specifically intended for high-quality neurophysiological applications and are compatible with multi-modal imaging workflows. They are designed for:

  • Recording Electroencephalography (EEG) signals.
  • Recording Evoked Potentials (EP) signals.
  • Serving as a reliable ground or reference electrode.

Key Features for Signal Quality

  1. Enhanced Gel Capacity: The deeper cup design accommodates approximately 3.5 times more conductive gel than standard slim cups, ensuring robust signal acquisition and consistency during extended monitoring.
  2. Superior Material: The cups utilize ABS plastic coated with highly conductive Ag/AgCl (Silver/Silver Chloride) plating.
  3. Imaging Capability: These are MR Conditional (FDA Cleared for 1.5T and 3T MRI) and provide artifact-free imaging during CT scans, allowing them to remain safely on the patient during imaging procedures.
Do the electrodes use high-quality, safe materials?

Yes, the Rhythmlink disposable deep cup electrodes are constructed from medical-grade materials chosen specifically for reliable signal acquisition and patient safety.

Here are the key material and safety details:

  • Electrode Cup: Made of durable ABS Plastic and plated with Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl), which is essential for stable signal quality.
  • Leadwire: Uses Tinned Copper conductors protected by a PVC Jacket.
  • Safety Status: Both the electrode and leadwire components are Latex-Free.
  • Packaging: Supplied in PVC-Free polyethylene packaging.
  • Imaging Compatibility: The design is MR Conditional (FDA Cleared for 1.5T and 3T MRI environments) and provides artifact-free results during CT scans, meaning the electrodes can safely remain on the patient during imaging procedures.
What leadwire configurations are available?

The Rhythmlink Deep Cup Electrode assemblies are configured based on the length of the associated MR Unsafe Extension Cables, which are available in three options:

  • 1.0 meter
  • 1.5 meters
  • 2.5 meters

These electrodes feature a 9-inch (240 mm) MR Conditional disconnect point, designed to simplify cable management by positioning the connection outside of restrictive headwraps.

Important Note on MRI Compatibility:
While the deep cup electrodes themselves are MR Conditional (FDA Cleared for 1.5T and 3T MRI environments), the extension cables providing these configurable lengths are designated as MR Unsafe and must be disconnected entirely before the patient enters the MRI room.

Are these EEG electrodes sterile?

No, the Rhythmlink Disposable MR Conditional EEG Deep Cup Electrodes are non-sterile.

They are designed to be fully disposable and intended strictly for single-patient use. This characteristic is a key safety feature, as it actively reduces the risk of cross-contamination between patients.

Are the electrodes latex-free?

Yes, these Rhythmlink Deep Cup Electrodes and their attached leadwires are confirmed to be latex-free, which helps ensure patient safety by reducing the risk of allergy-related reactions.

For material composition, the electrode cup is made of ABS plastic coated with Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl) plating, and the leadwire uses tinned copper with a PVC jacket. Notably, the product also features PVC-free packaging.

What is the cup diameter?

The Rhythmlink Deep Cup Electrode features precise dimensions designed to enhance signal quality and maximize gel retention during extended monitoring.

Key physical specifications are:

  • Cup Diameter: 10 mm
  • Recessed Cup Depth: 3.4 mm

This exceptional depth allows the cup to hold approximately 3.5 times more conductive gel than standard slim-cup designs, which helps maintain strong signal integrity throughout the procedure, even during required imaging (MRI/CT).

Do these deep cup electrodes reduce gel reapplication?

Yes, these electrodes feature a deep cup design that holds approximately 3.5 times more gel than standard slim cups. This significantly reduces the need for frequent reapplication, saving time during procedures and ensuring consistent contact.
